EverDrive N8 / Re: ROM City Rampage?
« on: January 29, 2019, 11:37 AM »
I tried it, and unless I did something wrong in generating the ROM from the Steam source (, it's just character sprites.  No backgrounds, no sound or music.  I know the guy who made the game used MMC5 mapper, and the N8 mapper is not 100% complete I think.

I bought it off Steam too. It works fine in an emulator, but it won't work on the N8 yet unless somebody has updated the MMC5 mapper. If I remember right, only Castlevania 3 works correctly so far with MMC5.

Please somebody tell me I'm wrong and there is an updated MMC5 mapper I don't know about.

make sure you have all dsp files inside the sd2snes folder

dsp1.bin (CRC32: 27124599)
dsp1b.bin (CRC32: 588279B4)
dsp2.bin (CRC32: F0221C90)
dsp3.bin (CRC32: E3B54E6A)
dsp4.bin (CRC32: CA09E176)

That fixed it.

That might be the problem. If you are doing a fresh install (which is what I was doing) then you don't get any of them. I imagine if I just replace everything in my "snes" folder with the content of the new firmware it will work fine.

I think this needs to be changed so you can just extract everything from the latest version and it will work. It's 1am here, so I will have to try this later. Thanks for the help.

I'm having an issue with my SD2SNES where Super Mario Kart freezes at the Nintendo logo. I just updated it to 1.9.0

I thought it might have been an issue with my Super NT, but it freezes on my Super Famicom as well (which it never did before).

Pilotwings works, so I don't think it's an issue with DSP-1 games.

I've tried two different copies on the game as well and got the same result.

I was wondering if anyone has had any similar issues.

I'm having this same issue. It worked fine with firmware 0.1.7e, but after upgrading it doesn't work anymore.

I'm using a SHVC-CPU-01 SNES.

If the SA-1 is just a souped up SNES CPU... can the SNES CPU be overclocked somehow and just use that?

No. The game is coded to look for and use the SA-1. You would have to do some serious editing of the games' code to make this work and even then it likely wouldn't work.

I'm basically having the same problems. Super Road Blaster was easy to get working, but anything else just gives me a black screen with no sound. TMNT4 seemed pretty straight forward according to the Read Me file, but again just a black screen. The only think I can think of is that the tmnt4_msu1.msu file is corrupt as its size is 0 bytes. That's how it is in the zip I got off Any thoughts?

I have an old version of the ROM I got back in 2002. That works fine, but the "improvement" patch breaks it for the N8.

Can somebody try this patch linked above and see if the N8 will run it?

I saw on there was an update to the Super Mario World hack from years ago. I downloaded the IPS file and applied the hack and everything seems to work fine in FCEUX, but gives me an Error: A0 Unknown ROM format with the Everdrive. Anyone else having this problem?

Here's the link to the IPS file for those interested.

Right on. I'll give that a look. Thanks.

I recently hooked up my N64 to my HD TV and it's a bit rough to look at due to the low resolution. I'm wondering what are the possibilities of Krikzz making an N64 Analogue NT Mini? I know the N64 is difficult to emulate because of weird design and timing issues, but since you aren't trying to do everything with a single CPU via emulation could it be done with multiple FPGA chips? I'm kind of new to FPGA stuff, so maybe it's not possible, but an HD N64 would be amazing.

Hello I'm new here.

Is there a ROM version of The Adventure of Link that works with an actual NES? I patched my own rom and it works fine with emulators but I get an "Error: A5" when I try to load the game using the latest OS and the 2017 version of the patch for The Legend of Zelda (prm0) version.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
