Title: Question about Everdrive-GB X3 use with Super GB and GBC games
Post by: kruuth on May 08, 2018, 06:09 PM
I am looking at buying one of these.  Is there a demo video of how Gameboy color games look on the Super Gameboy?

They just don't work at all, SGB isn't compatible with GBC exclusive games.

The hybrid GBC games in the black cartridges will work though. Many of them even come with the super gameboy borders, and sometimes sound.

Putting in a GBC only game though will usually put up a warning screen, or some piece of artwork stating that its not playable.

While the full game isn't accessible on an older GB, Pokémon Puzzle Challenge has a hidden GB version of Panel de Pon (https://tcrf.net/Pokémon_Puzzle_Challenge).

It must be said, the amount of GBC exclusive games is surprisingly not THAT much. For example, the only true GBC Pokemon is Crystal. Evend Gold and Silver run great on Super Game Boy. Even Dragon Quest Monsters 2 wich came out in 2001 is SGB compatible.
