Depending on where you are I could do it.  I have an extra board all ready to go because I had to buy 3 from osh park.   I put an ad up locally here but it is a pretty niche product. this is the ad and the pictures of my work and the mod.

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1371967050

Works great by the way.

Ah no worries. I would have done for cheap too.  The mod isn't too difficult if you have basic soldering skills.  Just remember to make that bridge at JP 341 after removing the component.  I forgot at first and it does not work.

If anyone else reading this wants the board or the install I am in Ottawa, Canada.

Good luck.

Hi, I just made this mod today (08/21/2018), it worked perfectly in ver. F, msu sounds were great, I used the Borti design board, https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/1ej3Nrdj, and the capacitors and resistors I got on ebay, I saw it on aliexpress, if anyone needs I have 5 ready made boards available in Brazil, just get in touch, I used the tutorial:

Same.  I have been trying to find people here interested in modding and retro gaming so we could get together and bulk order stuff from the states.  If you are interested shoot me a PM.

Nice mod and really worth the money. Mine was a Rev. E2 and now after I first made it a Rev.F is became a Rev.H ^^

hey ikari_01, i would need your help.
Reading the github of borti4938, i have a few questions. I tried to contact borti but for now, no luck.

I have a Rev. F that i already modded to Rev. G ; and I would like to use his board to mod it to Rev H.
As it's already modded, i think i get rid of the FB341 component, just like in this pic :
http://www.directupload.net/file/d/4337/sev78gad_jpg.htm
I can't check for now.
Sadly now, it's needed again for the Rev. H mod.
So these are my question :

- can you confirm that we have to remove FB342 and short it (the component that he forgot to mention in his pics like here :
https://github.com/borti4938/SNES-AddOn-PCBs/blob/master/sd2snes_RevH/Installation/01_Preparation.JPG
and why do we have to remove it (i like to understand what i do :)

- can i use the removed FB342 to replace FB341, and does it have a polarity ? Why do we have to let FB341 in place ?

Thank you for your help.

Yes it works, too. You need an additional step though: https://github.com/borti4938/SNES-AddOn-PCBs/blob/master/sd2snes_RevH/Installation/01_Preparation_RevG.jpg
This step is not present in the German CiBo-tutorial.

I don't see in the krizz store

The design is quite simple and free to everyone. In my opinion it's good to see some stores offering that for quite a good value.

Got you back via email. In short:
- yes. But also no problem if someone don't do that. I haven't done it until today.
- IMO, yes. FB341 is the connection to the power supply of the audio DAC and op amp.
(on rev. G FB341 connects the circuit to 5V, which is too high - see first part of this post)

hey, 'llo borti :) nice to read you.

I must apologize. I wanted to take a bit of advance, getting all the informations needed before receiving my amp board.
BUT i was a bit too fast. I could check my SD2SNES (it's not at my home actually), and it doesn't look like the one described in your github. I may have asked some dumb question :/
Mine looks more like this one :
http://retrostuff.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/sd2snes_07.jpg
This last one is a Rev. E1 modded to a rev. F.

Mine is a Rev. F, but what should be a FB342 is labelled JP341. I don't know if it matters, if it's just the name that change.

I think i'll follow your github, and leave JP341 in place.

Oh, and by the way, as i could check my SD2SNES, i could see i kept the FB341 in place (rotated 90° like in the Rev. G mod). I'll resolder it in its place. Sorry for the unuseful question :/

Is there any site that list all the revision of SD2SNES, with pics and description ? because it's becoming quite a jungle :D

Thank you for all people helping noobish like me :)

Good night MockyLock doing mod Rev F to Rev H you have to remove the JP341 and solder the points of JP341

Good evening, have you restored the files in the SD2SNES folder?
Have you checked that the console is okay?

Hello. I'm trying to update the 1.8 firmware and the screen is black. Please, could someone help to me?.
Thanks

One question, may be a stupid one, but I will ask anyway. Is it necessary to do the optional Rev. H HWID mod? Where the unused cpu pin is soldered to ground? This is the only step I did not do until I know more about it. I am also pleased with my revF after installing the Borti mod-board. It is nice not having to do two separate PCM volume levels (for emus and sd2snes).

Post by: TomKeller on December 22, 2018, 09:12 PM
Afaik for future firmware versions the HWID mod should serve the purpose of the SD2SNES recognizing itself as a Rev. H (or above) board and disabling the MSU1 volume boost option in the menu. But it doesn't do anything (by now).

Hello here !
I know this topic is very old, but i'm back to it because i have an issue with this mod.
As you could read above, it seems that i ddi this mod successfully about 2 years ago.
Today, i wanted to play a MSU game and the MSU sound is very low and noisy.
Trying Super Mario World, the FX sounds are normal, but the MSU BGM is so low i can barely hear it.
Trying Donkey Kong Country 2, the music is very noisy, and low too.

I'm pretty sure i played them well before.
What could have gone wrong ? A bad solder ? I reworked all the soldering job today.
I'm pretty sad it's not working now :/ The normal games seem to play as expected.
Any tips are welcome.

See ya !

EDIT : i had firmware 0.1.7b, already with issue. I upgraded to 1.10.3 but the problem is still here.

If the volume is too loud just turn the audio boost off, I had the same issue with Castlevania Dracula X MSU which used the PC Engine OST, you could pretty much not even hear the SFX until the boost was turned off.

The MSU music isn't too loud but too low, and noisy.

Get borti's board off,and clean everything up,then try the sd2snes again.
Then i should solder back the board in.
Or it must be broken or some shorts you, could be that if a short happenend it damage something.
I soldered also that board in,bust i sold my sd2snes for an sd2snes pro.
But i w ill try first without and get in back in.

Me again.
It should be a bad solder after all (even if it worked before).
I desoldered the board. And as expected, it went wrong and pad got off.
But i finally could fix the whole and it works well now.
Thank you fille1976 for your advice, i actually did it before i read about you :)

I should think into a SD2SNES Pro !

EDIT : now the MSU-1 music is at its normal level i think , but the FX sounds are a bit too low (MSU-1 boost off).
I wonder if my MSU-1 games were some MSU-1 level fixed one...

Or buy a MISTer,its the best thing i buyed in years,play neo geo-snes-nes-megadrive-sms-game gear-gba and gb-gbc-mega cd-pc engine-amiga-atari st-c64 ect...
Pc engine cd is almost here, and they are working on psx,but i think that will be next year, its really nice.
Sd2snes pro is good,it have a few more features,like the msu1 for sa1 games.
But after all i would spend money on MISTer then on sd2snes.

Test your MSU1 games with BSNES or with the latest SNES9x (links below). They give an accurate representation of MSU audio levels when compared to an SD2SNES with your mod or with a Rev. G onwards. If they sound the same then that's how the PCM audio was set. Not everyone who released audio for MSU hacks has an ear for audio balancing. The PCM packs (and patches) could also have been updated since you first downloaded them, so it's probably best to check the release articles on Zeldix for updates.

Hello
so i tried with a newer version of the DK2 MSU-1 pack and the MSU-1 level is normal, such as FX sounds.
So it was my DK2 pack that had some over-boosted MSU musics.
The good one is the Version 1.2 by Mattrizzle, Conn
I cant' find for now the old version i had.
Sadly, the good version above doesn't have the supa-nice Rare green-wired logo music that my previous pack had.
