I have a thing for infinite lives. I don't need to be invincible. I don't need infinite magic or ammo. I just want to be able to play through a game without having to replay a stage I've already completed. I have limited time for gaming between work and family. When I do have time I like to play games through to the ending.
This thread is for hard-coding infinite lives into Sega Master System roms. This is primarily useful when playing roms on real hardware via a flash cart. On an emulator an Action Replay code would suffice.
Feel free to request a game that isn't listed.
To patch a game:
Download LunarIPS (http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/) (Windows), MultiPatch (http://projects.sappharad.com/tools/multipatch.html) (Mac)
Download http://srktt.com/files/smscheat.zip
Patch a matching .sms rom with the .ips file

Tutorial to play along at home:
Open a recent build of Meka with the cheat finder
Load a game and get into the actual gameplay
Press the == button on the cheat finder without any additional input
Lose a life
Hit the < key
Lose another life
Hit the < key again
Repeat until you run out of lives
You should end up with a few ram values where the life counter is stored
Click on one. If it flickers or shows a constantly changing value move on
The good value should be one that decreases each time you die
Scribble this down once you have it. It is half the puzzle
Reset the game or hit continue and get back into gameplay
Open the debugger
Type the c key + enter to continue
Type b + space + the ram code above and hit enter. This will freeze the game when it is read or written to
Focus on the game play window and kill your character
You should see a rom value when it is decreased. Scribble this down as well
Open the memory editor and click on rom
Type the value from the debugger and hit enter. It will jump to its position
Try changing its hex value to a 00 for a noop. This will tell the game to do nothing in place of the decrease
Other potential values are:
12 - 1A
22 - 2A
32 - 3A
35 - 00, B6
70 - 46
77 - 7E

Hi, thats nice!
Can you give me please a code for "New Zealand Story"?
Thank you very much! :)
-
Sure thing. I added it. That's one of my favorites as well. Let me know if there's anything else you want.
-
I want codes for The Terminator and RoboCop versus The Terminator.
Thanks!!!
great work!!!!!!
-
Sure thing. They're up. The Terminator hits game over once you run out of health so I had to do infinite health on it. Enjoy!
-
Is there any way to get one for Maze Hunter 3D and Space Harrier 3D? I've never been able to beat either of those!
-
great stuff kyle! should upload these as 'patched roms' to mediafire or something similar, this could end up being a great thread indeed :) +1 to you :)
-

Yep. Done and tested. The 3d stuff looks crazy in emulators.
I'd like to avoid posting roms. I tried to make these easy to apply. I may make a bunch of IPS files eventually. I posted my work in progress stuff from SMS Power. I'll try to keep this post updated as well since people are digging it.

Thank you so much! I tested and they work perfect!!!

Honestly, it's just a matter of copying and pasting. It's definitely daunting for people who aren't used to the command prompt, but give it a try like this:
- Download the hexalter zip and extract it to the C:\ drive, so it makes the folder: C:\hexalter
- Copy your roms to that folder.
- Open a command prompt (in the accessories folder of the start menu)
- Type "cd\" ( no quotes) and hit enter. This brings you back to the root of the C drive
- Type "cd hexalter" and hit enter. This brings you to the hexalter folder.
- Copy the command Kyle wrote. For example, if you'd like to patch Space Harrier, copy this (minus the first and last quote) "hexalter "Space Harrier 3D (UE) [!].sms" 0x60D6=0x3C &:: Infinite Lives (C139)"
- Right click in the command prompt window hit paste
- Use the left arrow on the keyboard to go back and change the file name to match the exact file name of your rom (for example, mine was simply "Space Harrier 3D.sms").
- Hit enter.
- That's it! The rom is now patched!
-
Hello Kyle! I have a big wish to you! ;)
Can you make me codes for these fifteen games please?
Vampire
TransBot
Thunder Blade
Taito Chase H.Q.
Dynamite Dux
Shadow of the Beast
My Hero
Psycho Fox
Golden Axe
James Bond 007 - The Duell
Kung Fu Kid
Quartet
Alex Kidd - The Lost Stars
Streets of Rage and
Streets of Rage 2
I hope this is possible and takes not too much of your time.
Many, many thanks! :) :)
-
i patched shinobi and it doesnt work, i saw the game over screen ::)
EDIT: sonic works :D
-
Shinobi is fixed. Sorry about that. The hex offset in Meka wasn't right. Delete it and repatch with that new line.
SMS86 - Your list is done. Enjoy!
The only annoying game was Alex Kidd - The Lost Stars. I'd recommend using both codes. The first is for time decreasing your energy. The second is when you get hit.
-
wow, cool stuff. 8) :o
can i have codes for GLoc super space invaders robocop three teddy boy & submarine attack?? thank you!!1 i like these games! thanks!
-
Too bad there's no way to do this on a Mac. Oh well I guess seeing the end of Space Harrier 3D is still not within my grasp.

I also added Super Space Invaders. I don't understand the game G-Loc. What do you want to not happen? Run out of time?

OldGamer5 requests have been added. I personally tested all games in the zip this morning and fixed a couple to ensure this is 100%. I'll try and do some more this weekend.

you are the man kyle!!!!

you are the man kyle!!!!
Thanks kindly. If there's anything else you guys want let me know. I tried doing these alphabetically but it was boring the hell out of me. I'm going to start doing these top 100 from 1 down unless you guys have other ideas.

-
Top 100 seems the best idea to me.
-
I found that there was a newer version of hexalter that can make IPS files. I used this with my alphabetical stuff I'd done earlier to kick out a bunch of new ones. I then went through and filtered out what wasn't working.
The current count is over 100 now. Assault City ruined my night. Every boss uses a different code to decrease your energy. Hopefully someone likes this game.
-
I started doing the same for PC Engine over here:

I redid all of the codes since I have a better understanding of what I'm doing now after the PCE fun. Instead of having a bunch of increases - like dying with 3 lives gives you 4 instead of 2, you'll now stay at 3 after dying. This causes less graphical glitches.
Your last requests were also merged back into the main zip file. If you want anything else just let me know.
-
Thanks for taking the time to do this. I'm sure everyone really appreciates it.
-
No problem. If there is anything else you would like to see just let me know.

I see, nice updates. Would like to add:
Lucky Dime Caper Starring Donald Duck = lifes and maybe infinite energy since Donald has 2 hitpoints (like Ghost'n Goblins) before he dies.
Shinobi = energy
-
All three of those are up. Surprised I missed Lucky Dime Caper. Seems like a cute platformer.
-
Yep, all Disney platformer are pretty good on the Master System. Some have even a better playability than the "big brother" Genesis Disney games. :)
-
I played through all of the games again (phew) and fixed a couple of problems. Re-download to get a 100% archive.
-
Hey kyle, where is the latest download? Is it in the first post? Thanks for all your hard work with this and the pce!!!!
-
Yessir. It's in the first post on each thread.
SMS - http://srktt.com/files/smscheat.zip
PCE - http://srktt.com/files/pcecheat.zip

Fixed some codes that were working on emulator but not hardware.
Added Golden Axe Warrior - Infinite Energy. Not tested extensively. Let me know of issues.

That's a nice one. Will ty it the next days. :)
-
Hey kyle, i dont see one of my favorite games rastan. That would be a cool game to have patched.
Thanks
Scott
-
I went to get it and it was there already. There's an infinite energy patch in the zip file for it.
-
Ah sorry i guess i didnt see it.
my lucky day!
thanks
Scott
-
No problem at all. Let me know if you think of anything else you want.
-
Added codes for Laser Ghost and Spacegun by request.
-
Great thread Kyle, this motivated me to try patching Genesis roms, however it seems to be hit and miss. i was able to patch After Burner with unlimited lives and Batman with unlimited batarangs, but some game just won't work. i have been using the game genie code converter to HEX and editing the games with a HEX editor, but i wish there an easier way to do this. do you have any ideas on how to patch Genesis roms?
-
Classic Cheat Code Game Patcher (CCCGP) by cracker is good for systems that have Game Genie codes. I've also used uCON64 for this.
http://gamehacking.org/?s=downloads
http://ucon64.sourceforge.net/
Some Genesis games will need their checksum fixed after you patch them. You'll know this if you get a red screen of death etc.
If you have a specific example of an uncooperative game I'll check it out.
-
sounds like you nailed my problem, golden axe and last battle, among others have either a red or blue screen. how do i fix the check sum, and for an even stupider question... what exactly is a check sum? i would rather ask what it is than pretend like i know. thanks in advance!
-
nevermind, found GenRomSuite. everything works like a charm now. thanks!
-
Good deal. Hit me up if you need anything else. I really enjoy this stuff.
-
looks like i am all set on the tg16, sms, snes and gen front, now i am moving on to the nes. i have patched a bunch of roms and tested them on emulators before i throw them on an sd card and in my nes and they work on the emulators, but only some work on the real nes. is there a check sum type of fix i need to be doing with the nes roms as well? any help would be great. just an example is Journey to Silius with an invincibility GG code patched via the CCCGP, it patched perfectly when i play it on mednafen, but when i pop it in my everdrive and play it, it is as if it has never been altered. thanks again.
-
i don't know what i did differently, but i re patched and it looks like i am good. thanks again. i would have never known about doing this if i hadn't stumbled upon this thread.
-
I have a NES thread up now. ;)

-
I switched to just posting codes for Game Genie Guy. I can do IPS no problem if you prefer those.
-
That would be awesome kyle. Thank you, your the man.
-
IPS are done. These were generated with Game Genie Guy/uCON64. Let me know if you have issues.

Hi Kyle,
Could you do patches for Phantasy Star? Something like Infinite HP, Infinite MP, Infinite Money, Max Attack, No Random Battle, Etc?
Thanks
-
I don't like RPG at all but I like helping people. :o
Download Game Genie Guy, open Phantasy Star (USA, Europe) (Rev 3) and try this code for HP:

Pity you don't like RPG's! :-\
Thanks ;D

Cool I'll see if I can make a few more for it.

Infinite Monies is:
2C09:2A
What is the quickest way to get MP? I'll make one for it.
-
Kyle,
Thanks, I'll give these patches a shot and I've tried that new download on patching SMB3 myself and worked great. I have also tried it with a few other consoles and it's working well with the SNES and Genesis, but doesn't seem to be working for the Master System.
I have tried some of the patches you created that I had requested and Ninja Gaiden worked great. However, the patches for Double Dragon don't seem to work and when the Vampire patches were applied to Master of Darkness it was no longer an infinite lives/health effect. Instead, whenever I touch an enemy, I instantly beat the level. Is there any way you can create new patches for these?
I also have a few more patch requests for the Master System
- Rambo III - Infinite Lives, Infinite health
- Ghost House - infinite lives
- Ys - Infinite Lives, Infinite health
And thanks again.
-
I'm sorry, but the Alex Kid and Wonderboy patches aren't working either.
-
Infinite Monies is:
2C09:2A

Nice! Infinite money is working, too. Thanks
At some point in the game when you level up (LEVEL 3, I think) you'll learn a SPELL then your MP starts to increase after you kill an enemy.
I don't think there is a quickest way to get MP unless you find a way to get max EP (Experience Point) after a battle then you'll learn a spell. But this is just a guess. :-\
-
I'm sorry, but the Alex Kid and Wonderboy patches aren't working either.
Let's make this easier.
Use Game Genie Guy
Open the included SMSCodes.txt
Make sure your rom name matches the description:
Alex Kidd in Miracle World (USA, Europe) is "Alex Kidd in Miracle World (USA, Europe).sms"
It's more likely you have a different rom than it is that a code doesn't work. I'd recommend getting a No-Intro set.
Same for Double Dragon. I was saying use the game Vampire rather than Master of Darkness. What is the difference between the releases? I normally do Europe games by default for SMS.
On Phantasy Star MP decreases differently with each spell you use. Like let's say one spell uses 5 and the next uses 10. It would need a separate code for each you wanted to keep from decreasing. My recommendation would be to hit up nolberto82. He could probably come up with some better codes for this game. I'm not fancy enough to make "Start at level 30" type codes.

Thanks, I'll give the NoIntro set a try, but I don't understand your most recent post. Is that your work on preparing to create those new patches? I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused.
-
Also Kyle, is there anyway any of us can make a contribution to you for your work? It's been most appreciated.
-
Sorry, I've been posting codes you can use with Game Genie Guy. Like this:
I re-upped the SMS IPS file to include these.

I don't need donations or anything. I have a full time job that pays well. I'm just having fun.
-
Can you do one for Hokuto no Ken (J) [!].sms?
Can't find a Meka with a cheat finder.
I was able to find cheats with Kega Fusion, but I can't get them to work with Game Genie Guy.
Infinite Lives: 00D9AA:03
Infinite Health: 00DB93:40
Infinite Time: 00D9A7:63
-
I didn't realize this had a SMS release. You need a recent version of Meka from the forums for the cheat finder. The latest is at the bottom of this post:
http://www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13019&start=250
Hokuto no Ken (Japan)
Infinite Lives (D9AA)

Infinite Energy (DB93)
1FF3:7E
Infinite Time (D9A7)

Thanks! Codes work great and Meka has the cheat finder.
Yeah, the Genesis/Mega Drive Hokuto no Ken game is actually a sequel to the Master System/Mark 3 one.

Rastan has energy instead of lives. Once you die it's game over. There's a code for it in SMSCodes.txt. Check out that file (came with Game Genie Guy) for lots more codes.

Hello, thanks for that, yes i have been using the SMSCodes.txt file but not all the games had to codes i wanted or the games i wanted.
The only games i have left for the SMS that i would like codes for are as follows
Power Strike (USA, Europe) - inf lives
Star Wars (Europe) - inf health
Many thanks, i love the program you have made, it allows me to play them on the PSP without needing to put in the codes
I have been using your program for the megadrive/genesis as well, i will post in the other thread another day about games i cant seem to get codes working for such as the revenge of shinobi.

Any chance of altering xp gained in phantasy star? I don't know how the monster's loot and xp are set up but if it's like a table, maybe making one of the low level monster (the one usually found early on?) to have 256 xp instead? Kill a few, boom max level.
-
I gave this a shot but couldn't find it. Please go post as a request on the GameHacking forums:

I tried for an Exp code with no real success, I can get the number displayed after the enemy death to be much higher; but that don't actually give you the exp.
Then I was able to get max exp points to be given after battle, but the stats didn't increase.
What is the end result you're looking for?
I could make some codes that alter your stats after leveling up, or infinite HP.
These are the Game Genie codes I quickly made without much testing:
Phantasy Star (USA, Europe) (Rev 3)
More Defense On Level Up (Alis)
738-25E-3B7
At beginning of the game, after first level up the Defense was 58 instead of 13.
Infinite HP In Battle (Alis)
7E5-C9E-3B7
-
Well I was hoping for max stats early on so I could blow through from the start. Grinding and leveling up sucked in the past and I don't want to spend 50 hours or so just to play though for nogstalia.
-
Here's a couple more Game Genie codes that would only be useful if you were to start a brand new game:
Phantasy Star (USA, Europe) (Rev 3)
Start A New Game With 60 Attack
758-11E-3B7
Start A New Game With 58 Defense
758-25E-3B7
Start A New Game With 184 HP
748-01E-3B7
Edit:
Start A New Game With 65,535 MST
FF6-26F-E6A
FF6-27F-E6A
Start A New Game At Level 30
1E6-F8E-E6E
Attack 60 (Instead of 12)
Defense 125 (Instead of 13)
Max HP 218 (Instead of 16)
Max MP 32 (Instead of 0)
-
Thanks Memorize. Those are great.

-
if you want a contribution just askhell if I was good at this stuff I do it myself haha so I gladly pay for people to help me thats talented in this area.I mean if everybody was good at this they wouldn't have people like you but that's what makes you guys good at it because not everybody knows how to do thisyou Kyle and everybody else we greatly appreciate you
-
It's no problem.
I've been hacking retro games since around 2006 and never asked for any contribution, it's just a fun pastime for me.
-
I'll add some logic if the extension is sms and there's a dash to use the Game Gear patching. Been out of town with family all weekend. Thanks for the codes Memorize.
-
I gave both of you positive karma I guess that's a good thing haha for working with us Mario is coming over tonight we're going to tackle and see if this works. I'm going to try both game genie guyand that classic patching system and let you know the resultsgod bless the both of you.love Texas lot of military vets like myselfin a military strong stateLada airborne guys over in Iraq Fort Benning

To use those codes with GGGuy (I'll add some code to detect it later):
Open the rom
Change the drop down to Game Boy/Gear
Uncheck the Checksum option
Click Patch

Thanks Kyle!
Glad you're looking into adding support for Game Genie codes for SMS.
-
Bpth of you guys are awesome! I'll be on here tonight checking it out. Kung Fu Kid and others might work better. This might work better correct our problems with the codes and games. Me and Manorock will give this a shot and we'll keep the community informed of our results.
-
Not sure what kind of problems you had with the game, but try these:
Kung Fu Kid (USA, Europe)
Infinite Health
084-D4E-C42
Infinite Time
00B-51E-E6E
Disable Game Over
03B-89F-F72

When I tried to run CCCGP I keep getting this message: "Component 'mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid".
What can I do to get the program to run? My laptop runs on Windows 8.1, if that helps.
-
You should be able to use Game Genie Guy! instead if you follow the directions posted above.
But, if you still want to use CCCGP instead, you can try extracting this file into the same folder as the program:
http://oldgamehacking.com/temp/MSCOMCTL.OCX.zip
-
I have this fixed already but I'd like to test it since I had to shuffle code around. It should be posted tomorrow.
-
We've tried using the codes made by Mezmorize through the Game Genie Guy and unfortunately none of the codes worked. I've tried several things including typing several different code formats into the program. Nothing worked on the flashcart or emulators. I also tried downloading the file provided by Mezmorize for CCCG and put it into the same folder as the program and it still doesn't open and the same error message pops up. However, the codes provided by Kyle worked with the Game Genie Guy.
Thank you for your troubles. I don't know why things aren't working.
-
Did you do what Kyle said to?
I just patched Kung Fu Kid with Infinite Health (084-D4E-C42), and it worked perfectly fine [on an emulator].
---
Edit:
While the patching does work fine, I found out that the particular code I made will also make the boss have Infinite Health.
If you want Infinite Health in Kung Fu Kid, you'll need to enable ALL of the following codes:
Kung Fu Kid (USA, Europe)
Infinite Health (Bosses Too)
084-D4E-C42
Progress To The Next Stage Even With Infinite Health Enabled
18D-B9F-4CA
One Hit Kills Boss (Stage 1)
18C-F4D-4CA
One Hit Kills Boss (Stage 2)
182-77C-4CA
One Hit Kills Boss (Stage 3)
009-07C-C4E
Able To Kill Bosses (Stage 4)
642-628-808
722-638-6EA
Use Down+2 Button.
Use Down+2 Button to kill the boss on stage 5 also.
One Hit Kills Initial Boss (Stage 6)
00C-4AB-6EE
Able To Kill Next Bosses (Stage 6)

One Hit Kills 3rd Boss (Stage 6)

One Hit Kills 5th Boss (Stage 6)
185-B6B-4CA
One Hit Kills Final Boss Of the Game
EF6-ED8-A26
766-EE8-3B7
I was able to beat the game using all of those codes (and Infinite Time).
-

-
ill have to go back through and add those others for kung fu kid i only trial tested this on level one thanks for the heades up, your others codes on game hackers.com are sweet they work great.
-
gg guy seems to support your game hacking codes fine i figured out i was checked the sum check that why codes werent working thanks for reminding to reread the directions it works
-
Glad you got it sorted. Try this build when you have a chance please. It should take the codes without changing options.
http://srktt.com/files/GGGuy.zip
-
Will do Kyle and thanks for the latest addition.
-
Good news Kyle. We tested the new Game Genie Guy with games for the Master System, NES, and Genesis and they all worked!
Mezmorize, that big line of code for Kung Fu Kid worked with one exception. In the battle between the two girls in the dojo in round 6, when I knocked them both down, neither one disappeared and I was stuck. Not sure why.
And Manorock and I have some new code requests.
Ghostbusters (Master System) - Infinite Money, Infinite Ghostbusters, Infinite Time, Infinite Power Beam
Shadow Dancer (Master System) - Invincibility
Wonder Boy (Master System) - Invincibility
Super Mario Bros 2 (Famicom Disk System) - Infinite Lives, Invincibility
Vigilante (Master System) - Invincibility
Terminator 2 the Arcade Game (Master System) - Infinite Continues

Here's the Game Genie codes I had time for, didn't do any real testing:
Ghostbusters (USA, Europe) [sms]

Infinite Money
7E4-68B-3B7
Infinite Time
000-CEE-A22

Wonder Boy (USA, Europe) [sms]

Vigilante (USA, Europe) [sms]
Infinite Health
2AB-F6D-6E2
You die in one hit in Shadow Dancer, so my try on an Invincibility code didn't go far.
The skateboard and hammer codes for Wonder Boy were found while trying to make the requested one.
I don't think there is a game called 'Terminator 2 the Arcade Game' for SMS, I only have The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
-
Mezmorize - Thanks for stepping up. I've been busy between family and work. Anything else I could do to win you over from CCCGP? ;)
-
Thanks for what you could get for me I appreciate it very much.that game iis titled t2-the arcade game plays like a arcade shooter (europe) on gamehacking site under master system.

Nope :-)
Now I have no reason at all to use it; thanks for all the work you put into Game Genie Guy!

Edit:
Thanks for what you could get for me I appreciate it very much.that game iis titled t2-the arcade game plays like a arcade shooter (europe) on gamehacking site under master system.

Just for grins:
The SNES portion of CCCGP gets some games wrong that uCON64 does right.
The NES portion of uCON64 gets many games wrong.
CCCGP doesn't properly handle small games like Excitebike.
I think everyone had good intentions (myself included) but it's taken a lot of trial and error to sort out what works and what doesn't.
Easy codes to test that will fail in CCCGP:
Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (USA)
Infinite Energy
C9C3-3F2D
Excitebike (Japan, USA)

Both kyle and mezmorize are great.mezmorize is good at invinsibility codes and tuff games because like he saidhe's been doing it since 2006.The Game Genie guy program has improved greatly.if it wasn't for the things that both of you guys are good at being shared the community would never find out how great it is.thanks for the codes and thank you for the program you both have taught me a lot about this stuff the least I can do is try out the games on multipleplatforms.
-
Indeed. Mezmorize is much better at game hacking than I am. He can do more interesting codes. The ones I do aren't nearly as time consuming.
-
All codes except the one for Vigilante work. Thanks Mezmorize!
-
Kyle they codes were patched with your new gg guy mezmorize and you are appreciated very much.I believe mezmorizze game hacking codes work on snes to im going to test my collection .
-
I just beat t2 arcade game using gg guy thanks kyle for the program.mezmorize your code worked like a charm infinite continues! The kung fu kid works beat it as well the game just froze the last time.mezmorize I used your invunibility code on the ninga sms(game hackers) and the score at the end of level one keeps talling up and cant beat the first level.I also patched wonderboy with kyles infinite lives and health and mezmorizes invunibility (game hackers)but the game wont let me get pass area 1.1 the first area in the game.I used no intro (usa euope) wonderboy and (usa europe) for the ninga game as well. The codes all work I was just wondering if anyone else tried these and had that happen or what is causing it thanks anyone with feedback or suggestions.
-
We have some new requests.
- Bram Stoker's Dracula (SMS) - Infinite time
- Robocop 3 (SMS) - Infinite Energy or Invincibility
Manorock wants to make sure that you guys (Kyle and Mezmorize) that the code for Vigilante didn't work. Also tonight we tried codes for Asterix: The Great Rescue, Back to the Future III, and Bubble Bobble and they didn't work. Asterix TGR and Back to the Future III didn't load and while Bubble Bobble still loaded, the code (infinite lives) didn't work. We've been using the Non-Intro Sets and been matching the names of the roms with the codes.

I didn't realize this had a SMS release. You need a recent version of Meka from the forums for the cheat finder. The latest is at the bottom of this post:

I don't have any equipment to test these out, and I've never tried this type of hack before.
The only game that I can even tell a difference with in the emulator Fusion, is Double Hawk (but it seems like only partial FM).
Someone please test these:
https://app.box.com/s/6fsfu1ja18wsxfjc1q3t7aih8z69h0q7
-
I don't get any music (FM or not) for any of these games when patched. All go silent with only SFX being played. Even Battle OutRun and Double Hawk which do have some kind of partial FM when played in emulators, go totally silent on the console itself.
On a sidenote, the Summer Games prototype already has FM music enabled by default. No need to patch it. The retail ROM, on the other hand, goes silent when patched like the rest of the other games.
-
Oh man, sorry :-(
Guess it's just beyond my skill level indeed.
Out of them all, I thought maybe Double Hawk would have been the one that would at least partially work; since at least the 'low notes' seem to work in Fusion.

Hi Kyle, thanks so much for helping me out with those codes,...Rocky, Fire & Forget II and Renegade work perfectly, not to mention the ones I got from that document when I downloaded the GGG ap :)
Sadly 2 of the codes do not work so I was wondering if you could investigate a little more.
These are:
Shadow Of The Beast (Europe) "Infinite health": Rom downloaded from here: http://www.planetemu.net/rom/sega-master-system/shadow-of-the-beast-europe-1
Power Strike 1 (USA, Europe) "infinite lives": Rom downloaded from here: http://www.planetemu.net/rom/sega-master-system/power-strike-usa-europe-1
Beast just continues to lose all 9 heath points till death,...and Power Strike 1 fails to load when the code is patched :-\
The Beast infy lives code (334F:3A) works perfectly but It's infy health I need mate.
I will be shouting you out on those vids once I've uploaded them, would you like to be known as Kyle?...or another name?
For anyone else reading this, here is my Retro game channel, over 1000 vids using all original hardware, I hope you will pop by and take a look :)

Excellent, they all work like a dream Kyle, can't thank you enough for them, now I can add them to the list of UNemulated longplays on my channel and once I have them recorded, edited and uploaded I will shout you out on them and inform you of those games :)
Yeah Xenon 2 was one of those annoying games that when you die you were sent right back to the start and not where you left off,...one of my biggest game hates that >:(
So the infy energy code is gem!!!
Brilliant work, thanks again!!!
Ah, I forgot one, in your own time could you sort me out an infy time code for SCI - CHASE H.Q. II, I got the rom from here: http://www.planetemu.net/rom/sega-master-system/special-criminal-investigation-europe-1

I've been using your program to patch cheat codes into games for most of my Everdrives. So far the only problems I've been having are with games on my Mega Everdrive. When I play a standard ROM, I have no problems, but if I used the same ROM patched with game genie cheat codes, I get a red screen. Any idea what might be causing this? So far every other EverDrive I've played with patched cheat codes has worked perfectly (and I own almost all of them). Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I know that the Mega EverDrive has built in Game Genie support. I haven't tried using that because I've found your program to be much easier for me. If I have to, I'll try that route, but I thought I would mention it here first. Also, I know this thread is for the Master EverDrive, but I wasn't aware of a similar thread for the Mega Everdrive, so sorry if it's in the wrong place.
Thanks.

You need to patch the checksum with uCON64. Download this and save ucon64.exe to the same directory as GGGuy.exe. It should be fine after that. If not let me know of the game/code and I'll take a look.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ucon64/files/ucon64/ucon64-2.0.0/ucon64-2.0.0-win32-mingw-bin.zip/download

Thanks for the reply.
I'm pretty sure I have uCON64 installed properly. I've successfully patched cheat codes for NES, SNES, Master System and PC Engine, and isn't uCON64 required for all of those other than NES? No problems with any of the other systems. While doing some other testing, I did manage to get Splatterhouse 2 on the Genesis to work with unlimited health. But for some reason I can't get any other Genesis games to work. I'm specifically trying to get unlimited lives with TMNT The Hyperstone Heist. I even tried to download a different ROM and still no luck. For the record, the ROM I'm trying to patch plays just fine if I don't try to patch the cheat codes in, so I'm pretty sure the ROM is ok.
I also wondered if having the 32x installed could be a problem since the Mega Everdrive has a few features that are not compatible if the 32x is installed, but I think that theory is out the window since I was able to get Splatterhouse 2 to work with unlimited health with the 32x installed.
Thanks again for your help.
-
It is optional with those systems but needed for Genesis. Check the folder where you have GGGuy. If you don't see ucon64 then it isn't there.
Some Genesis games give a red screen when their code is altered. This has to be fixed by the uCON64 utility.
I know that game works because my kiddo and I play it with infinite lives.
-

Thanks. Make sure the checksum box is getting checked automatically. If not then check it. If you are still having grief paste the full ROM name and codes you are using. That game is from Konami and they do red screen on failed checksums.
-

I agree with what you said in the original post. I don't really care about most Game Genie codes. I just want unlimited lives so that I ca play through until the end. I sometimes want unlimited health for games that put you way back when you die, but the TMNT beat'em up games don't do that so unlimited lives works just fine. I hope to play this game with my son like you currently do, but he is too young at the moment to play any games.
I appreciate you helping me out with this. I was pretty sure that I had the checksum box checked, but just to be safe I tried it again last night, but still no luck. The game I'm specifically trying is TMNT The Hyperstone Heist, but I'm not really sure what you mean by full ROM name, so if you could clarify, I would appreciate it.
Here are the Game Genie codes I was trying to use.
ADCT-CAGC Infinite lives„player 1
ADFA-CAB2 Infinite lives„player 2
BXYA-CA6L Deadly attack uses no life points player 1
BXYT-CA2G Deadly attack uses no life points player 2
However, I would be happy with just infinite lives for player 1.
Thanks again.

I just retried it and had no issues. Make sure your rom is named "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - The Hyperstone Heist (USA).md" so that we are on the same page. Here is what my setup looks like.
And here's an IPS file just for grins. You can apply this with GGGuy or LunarIPS.

Thanks again for your help. I'll take another look at this tomorrow since today was pretty busy and I ran out of time. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Thanks.
-
Success. When I used your ips file to patch the ROM it worked. I still don't understand why it wasn't working the other way, but oh well.
Thanks again for your help and quick responses. I'm really enjoying The Hyperstone Heist. I was a huge Turtles in Time fan and I'm really glad that this is a different game and not just a port. It's almost like Turtles in Time with new levels.
-
Good deal. I would really need to see the before and after roms to tell you why it wasn't working. I suspect ucon64 isn't running for some reason. If you run into this again I would try some other checksum fixing utility after you patch the codes. Here's one for example.

I will keep that in mind next time. Thanks again for your help.

would you mind making some patches for the hidden FM sounds in some games,if its possible. In SMS power they had this post " http://www.smspower.org/forums/13361-FindingFMEnablePatches#68112 " it says
Posts: 7602
Sonic of 8 found a while ago that a few games have code/data for FM support.
He provided RAM patches for them:
http://smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12380
* Battle Out Run: 00DE00:01 ; this one doesn't sound particularly good
* Double Hawk: 00DD00:01
* Dynamite Dux: 00D000:01
* Rambo III: 00DE80:01
* Summer Games (Proto and Original): 00C001:01
And an hacky ROM patch for Super Basketball Demo:
; Super Basketball ROM[009D] =1 (this clear RAM with 1 instead of 0 and cause bugs)
Problem with all those patches is that they enforce FM support rather than just enabling it. It would be more convenient to have patches that enable regular FM detection without enforcing it. Anyone up for the task?

Use Down+2 Button to kill the boss on stage 5 also.

I was able to beat the game using all of those codes (and Infinite Time).
Hi! I am trying using the way you mentioned above, but when I enter the code and click in Patch, nothing happens. Can you please help me? I am using latest version of GGGuy (from 2015). Thank you.
