Thanks guys.  But am I correct that this feature cannot be used unless the FPGA has been updated?

When I go the store link KRIKzz posted, there is no button for amazon to buy this. Strange as the other product pages have amazon buttons.

Maybe try redoing the sd card.  I have an X7 and it's never done what you describe.  Sounds like a hardware problem, but you say it works fine without the everdrive.

Hi Krikzz, I see a new version of the OS is available for download.  I read the changelog, but don't really understand what it means.

Do the changes allow any new games to be supported?

Master EverDrive / Woody Pop and X7
« on: October 13, 2019, 03:34 PM »
Tried the Japanese game Woody Pop last night on my X7 and the control pad wouldn't work right.  It kept pushing the paddle over to the right of the screen which made it unplayable.

My console is a NTSC, but I have a 50/60Hz switch installed.  I tried with both 50 and 60Hz but the problem stayed the same.

Do I have a bad rom or is there an issue running Japanese games?

Controller is working now.  I took it apart and for some reason it had a broken trace for the button.  I don't know why as it worked before.

Anyway, fixed the trace and it is working good now.  Really enjoying the X7.  Thanks for making it!

Almost 3 months later no answer.  What is going on with the X7 and KRIKzz?

Hey KRIKzz!  Any update as to why the genesis controllers stopped working on the X7?

With the Genesis controller the A button was unresponsive.  Since this was modified to work on SMS, I also tried an original Genesis 3-button controller and the A button was unresponsive as well.  That is when I tried my old original flat pad controller and it worked.  As I mentioned I have been using the Genesis controller on V1 for years with no problems.

Disk operations woks bit faster with Large cluster size (32k), this is the only difference.
What exactly you mean when you say “not getting back to menu properly”?
I will look on differences in controller handling in v1 and x7

Well it seems to be working now.  Maybe because I had the Genesis controller plugged in when going back to the menu the colors were off and when starting another rom the in-game menu would pop up again and I had to return to directory menu and reselect the rom again and then it would work.  Moving to the old pad controller seems to have the menu working ok.

Thanks for looking into the controller handling. I much prefer my Genesis controller.

Master EverDrive / Couple of X7 Questions
« on: December 27, 2018, 07:10 AM »
Just set up my X7 today and have a few questions.

I formatted the card with the SD formatter and then used Win10 to format to FAT.  Is the cluster size important?  I used 32kb clusters and have a little flakiness with the in-game menu sometimes not getting back to the menu properly.

Also, my Genesis controller stopped working with the X7.  It worked with the old V1.  This is a modified controller with a start button.  I plugged in my original brick gamepad and it works fine, but I really prefer the Genesis one.  Any got a workaround for this?

Love the fast loading and new features of the X7.  It's a great upgrade!

Hmm, sounds like that would be bad for the SD card over time.  Would make it wear down much faster.  Let's see what others thiink of this.
