Heya fellas,

I want to order an Everdrive X7 GB. Unfortunately there seem to be few sellers currently who have the product in stock.
http://stuffpoint.ru/ seems to sell it for 120$ and no shipping costs to germany, which would be actually really nice.

I have no experiences with that seller though and don't know if it's a trustworthy seller.
Any experiences / recommendations?

thanks & greetings

GameCube + GameBoy Player is waaaay more versatile and with the fancy adapters from raphnet, you can choose between a variety of gamepads -->I prefer the snes-controller!

Only go for SNES+SGB, if you're absolutely sure, that you don't wanna play GBC or GBA. And yes, the SGB1 run's 2-3% faster, which can be fun, but it's inaccurate :-) (Go SGB2!!!)

If you're going for GameCube+GBP: don't bother looking for the annoying/expensive Start-Up Disc! -->Rather invest in a homebrew-boot method (SD-Media Launcher!) and run the GameBoy Interface Software (GBI)! I'd recommend the GBI Speedrunning edition, because it has super low lagg, and a nice set of features (incl. zoom-options, input display and a few controller-presets).

Regarding which Everdrive to buy: I started with an Everdrive X7 for GB&GBC and bought the Everdrive GBA a bit later. If you wanna play the full GB/GBC/GBA library, that's really the only way to go...

IF they recommend a 2A power supply why don't they include one?

they do, but it's US/Jap Plug Type

Alrighty, my repaired/new (I think they did just send me a new unit) arrived just today and I immediately ran the SD2SNES diagnostics:

Test      Result
----------------
SD        Passed
USB       not implemented
RTC       Passed
CIC       no run
FPGA      Passed
RAM       Passed
SD DMA    Passed
CLK       Passed
DAC       not implemented

I did run KSS and it worked! So seems it was a problem with the ram after all!

Any idea what's up with that "SNES IRQ"?

The USA version has a weird line going through the middle of the screen as well as lines in some sprite enemies and Kirby

The Europe version has the above though it will always be the more based off below version due to effects and stuff

The Japan version has hardly any glitches though some lines are below a few sprites and dying causes lines to appear

oh that's surely interesting... well I hope, I'll be able to try it out, once my SD2SNES gets repaired

alrigthy, so I should see that I find a decent SD2SNES where the fucking RAM / RAM1 works properly  :-\

Another friend who bought his SD2SNES 07-Apr-2018 from Krikzz tested with v1.9.0 KSS and it worked!
He refuses to open his shell though to check the hardware revision :D

I'm really confused so far... but yeah, the not working RAM is sure something that could cause these problems...
Anyone knows someone in germany who could help me soldering-wise?

Unfortunately I have two left hands and no soldering skills :-(

I asked a friend who bought his SD2SNES off a british seller in October 2018, whether he could test KSS with firmware v1.9.0 -->and it worked!

His board is a Rev. F, 2017-11-10 and looks like this:

it's a rev. H 2016-04-13 btw...

@Richardragon87: the problem occurs with all versions of the game :-(

@TomKeller: the solder on the chip actually looks OK, so I dunno...

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: SD2SNES DIAGNOSTICS "RAM FAILED"
« on: January 13, 2019, 02:16 PM »
Oh that's really interesting regarding the actual trouble I'm having these days:
I wanted to play "Kirby Super Star (=KSS)" on the SD2SNES, and since 1.9.0 supports SA-1, the game should work! It doesn't though on my SD2SNES...

Are there any hardware revisions that might be a problem? I bought by SD2SNES off krikzz at 23-Dec-2017

Thanks for your replies!

I just ran the diagnostics tool. Everything looked fine, except for "RAM FAILED":

EverDrive GB / Re: Everdrive x7: Hard Reset -->starting game again?
« on: December 28, 2018, 04:20 PM »
Unfortunately the best way to speedrun a game that requires hard resets is getting the game's cartridge.

I'm doing that for most of my games - just wanted to know if there's an option I don't know of.

The SD2SNES e.g. just starts the cartridge again, once you hit the reset button... though I guess current firmware, allows you to configure, whether the reset button should only reset, or move you back to the sd2snes-menu.

I'm talking about using the reset-button on my gamecube :D

I'm using a US-NTSC Cube with homebrew-Software GBI-SR
