I wish this was true but when I run FAT Sorter on my Windows PC it works to sort but when I go into folders on my GBA Everdrive it comes up with IO errors all the time so is not a viable option. Manually doing fatsort on a Mac has the exact same result. Does anyone have a solution to sorting files automatically without causing IO errors? I do fatsort/FAT Sorter for all of my everdrives (I essentially own them all) and it works fine but this GBA Everdrive X5 is the only one that has issues (IO Errors). Also manually adding folders slowly is not a viable option since I consistently add the newest romhacks to my SDs every week/month so having to do that every single time I add a few new roms is just ridiculous.

Sounds like you may have already played too many games on the X5 already if so you can only hold a total of 2,025 memory data files where the device will create a back up of each rom and when it exceeds the limit the Disk I0 message will appear in any folder you click on.

I've literally loaded 2 roms on it since I got it. Busy and then too annoyed with the IO errors.

So I finally got my GBA Everdrive, and YES you can use a 128GB microSD card (Kingston is recommended by Stone Age Gamer)...just make sure it's FAT32 formated first!  So anyway, no matter how much I try to do it manually, I can't quite get the files to stay sorted right (I think for some reason the Everdrive OS sorts the files/folders by modification date instead of alphabetically)...Krikzz I would appreciate it so much if you could update the OS so it sorts the files/folders alphabetically like the other Everdrives.  It kinda drives me nuts that I can't get the files on their sorted!

I agree. This is the only feature request I have (left) for the X5.

We know you can use 'FAT Sorter' to sort the files on your SD, but that often results in 'IO Errors' so that's not really an option. Might be my SanDisk, might be a general issue. Whichever it is, automatic sorting done by the EverdriveGBA would fix this.

I have the same issue with my SD card have you found an alternative for Windows that allows you to sort without causing IO Errors? I even tried using fatsort via terminal on my Macbook and same issue. This is super annoying. Surely someone has figured out a solution besides slowly copying the files in order? That's not even realistic for me since I regularly download new romhacks and add them to my card so they will always appear at the bottom. Any advice is appreciated.

Ummm is this a finished v20 update or an update for the new revision of N8 that's coming? That mappers.png is the shocker. I may test this out tonight.

So it does boot and seem to work on my EverDrive N8 + AVS but Reset To Game seems to be stuck on (even if you disable or toggle it) so on my AVS I can't actually get back to the list of games to change the game. The OS version says 20.

Please add IR blaster and revamp everdrives with ir receiver so we can wireless reset and go back to the rom page

Super NT, Mega SG, AVS NES / NT Mini and UltraHDMI N64 and all have built in hotkeys to do exactly what you want. FPGA consoles are the way to go anyway so that's my recommendation for NES, SNES, Genesis and N64 at least. Also I doubt designing a remote reset into a flash cart is as easy as adding an IR receiver.

As for v20, well, i really don't know why it not working for some of us, it work on all my test carts and all my systems. I do not know how to fix the problem if i can't see the problem. But what if i would not made v20 at all? N8 still be best in terms of mappers support and features, all would be happy with v16 or some v17 with minor updates. But i tried to made huge jump for N8, spent incredible amount of time for all those mappers and fds sound and what i have after all? Only complaints? I must say this is dissapoint and demotivate me.

I just want to say I greatly appreciate your efforts Krikzz and the time that you put into your products. You are very skilled at what you do, it's evident with each of your flash carts and the Joyzz that you are a perfectionist. Programming this N8 v20 update must be incredibly complex and I know that the people complaining don't understand this. I think people need to have more patience and understand that you are doing this out of pure passion for enhancing an already fantastic product! Keep up the good work and remember there's always people like me rooting for you and enjoying your work immensely!

Any chance there's been progress on a Mario or Wave Race Shindou versions translated to english? It's shocking it hasn't been done to me since Mario 64 has to be the #1 hacked game of all time...the amount of rom hacks alone is staggering.

Krikzz I just want to say thank you for your hard work and dedication it's much appreciated. Your flash carts truely are masterpieces and your contributions to retro gaming on original hardware is simply incredible.

To everyone complaining on this thread, please have respect that this kind of development takes time and life happens. Also the complexity of this major update I'm sure is something far beyond the average user's understanding, we need to just have some patience. It will come when it comes and when it does we can all celebrate in its glory. Until then let's just be happy it's coming at all! =)

Well the Mega EverDrive X7 has that function but most likely was only implemented because of the save state feature I feel like so figured EverDrive 64 may be possible too.

Hello,

Is there any possibility a firmware update could come out for EverDrive 64 v3 to allow a hotkey you can press to return it back to the menu to load a new rom? I know it's the ultimate lazy request since it only saves you from having to hit Reset when you want to switch a game but just curious if that could come eventually?

When we're talking about game shark implementation in the current Everdrive 64 v3 does this still add more compatibility for Gameshark cheats to most games then or the current OS is better than this? I've tried reading through but don't really understand if this is beneficial for current Everdrive 64 v3 users or not. I'm receiving mine in a few days and was getting my cheat txt files ready when I came across this. Should I just prepare to use this mod instead to get better cheat compatbility?
