Can't say I've ever experienced that with either N8 model.

EverDrive N8 / Converting Save States from N8 to N8 Pro?
« on: May 14, 2020, 03:39 AM »
I was wondering, is there a way at all to convert old N8 Save State files to work on the N8 Pro? Not sure I have the patience to go through and remake all of my Zelda 2 Save states, lol. Thanks!

We got it all sorted, thank you! Turns out when I updated the OS without reformatting the MicroSD it didn't like that very much.

I will mention it. Thank you for the idea. I was using it in a retroUSB AVS, and never had to worry about that. Will post again with results.

Would it be possible to make that an option in the settings to put load first? I know I've accidently saved over my save states when I meant to load more than once.

EverDrive N8 / Famicom N8 on US Top Loader
« on: March 15, 2020, 03:34 AM »
Hello! I gave my old Famicom N8 Everdrive to a friend when I got my N8 Pro, and they are having trouble getting it to work on a US Top Loader. The have a pin adapter, which works with actual Famicom carts. However, when they turn on the system, they just get a green screen that turns blue. I've heard that NES N8s do not like the pin adapters to use in a Famicom, is the same the case with the Famicom N8 in an adapter to US Toploaders? Or is there probably an issue with the SD Card? Thank you in advance, I really appreciate any help.

No idea what that number is, the checksum of the file is A118214F.
It matches the file name "Link no Bouken - The Legend of Zelda 2 (Japan) (Rev 1)" from the FDS GoodSet collection.

Still can't find rom with such checksum. Would be cool if you can share yours

Absolutely, how should I go about that?

Got your file. Problem related to bad file. There is 16 extra bytes in the end of disk image,  removed them and auto swap working fine now.

That's interesting. Wonder what happened to it? I copied it from my backups onto the SD card and it works fine. Thank you for checking into it!

Also when starting up Zelda 2 FDS, I get an Err 22 after is says Change Side B. It does load further, but it adds delay for sure. I have the auto side change turned off. Also was curious to see the old FDS load screen did not come up. Did I forget to do something maybe?

@KRIKzz Will existing game save SRAM files and save state files from the previous N8 work with the Pro N8? If they work, do they need to be renamed or will they work as is?

Got a shipment notification earlier today, looking forward to it  ;D

regular saves will work, they should be renamed to .srm, save states files incompatible

I renamed all the .nes files in my SAVE folder from my original N8, copied them to the save folder on the new N8 Pro, and it seems really random on which ones work, and which ones do not. Any ideas on why some are not working properly?

Sorry for going off topic but does the Super NT have a jailbroken firmware?

Yes, but it has zero support for any special chipsets, and the SNES has about 15 of those.

Cheers, appreciate the information. I'm seeing tons and tons of reports of people getting theirs already, and mine is yet to ship, I'm starting to get kinda pissed off, and they're not responding to contact attempts. My order went in mid-afternoon on day one. /sigh Thanks again for your time, I really do appreciate it.
