To put it simply no. There was talk of people wanting the SD2SNES to emulate the super gameboy but I really doubt the fpga on board is capable of doing it.

Luckily you were wrong. ;)

Works on original SD2SNES aswell as Pro:

Yeah I agree. I've searched for the answer but couldn't find anything.

My guess is the old files got integrated into the OS, and the rbf files are more like band-aids until the code is integrated into the OS. I could be completely wrong though.

Have you tried it on the AVS? MMC3 was tweaked and MMC3 games crash on AVS.

Nope I'm playing on an AV modded Famicom. I got my N8 about 6 months ago, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I'm very new to this and was curious what's wrong with rc7? It's the version I've had on my ED for months and I haven't run into any issues with it. Granted I haven't played much on it, maybe that's why I haven't had issues yet.

Use RC7 if you don't care about MMC3/Mapper 4 being broken, otherwise use RC6. All the mappers from previous updates should be there AFAIK.

They're not, that was my question.  Most of the ZIP files only seem to have the mapper files that were modified or added.  I kept what I had from V16, but as I said, it should be explained better.

I am also confused by this. The official stable v16 release has 25 mapper files in tha MAPS directory. While the v20 betas and RCs all have 16 mapper files or less. Are we supposed to keep the other mappers from the stable build? Or are there less because the others are hard coded into the OS?

ah ok perfect!
This is my bios list:

Do I need additional bios files in othjer to play every supported game?
the sufami turbo roms I have have the bios embedded into the roms them selves so no additional files are needed. I sent you a PM.

Any chance you could send me a PM too? The roms I have are from SM's pack but they don't seem to be complete.

If it's working for you then you probably don't have to worry about it. My region switch was in the SD slot.

You're right it's in the SD slot, thanks! I guess it's set to the correct region for my console then. Does it just switch from NTSC and PAL?

Quick update: after going through a laundry list of possible causes together, the Stone Age Gamer rep confirmed it was most likely a faulty board and offered a return for a new one.
They were really helpful throughout (almost made getting a faulty unit downright a pleasure)

In case I'm ever told what the exact issue with the board was I'll provide an update.

I got my SD2SNES a couple of months ago from Stone Age Gamer, I was told it was from a new batch they had just received. I really hope there isn't a bad batch of SD2SNES carts. I am still waiting on my RetroTink 2X, so I haven't had a chance to test it much, and only tried Mario RPG for like 1 minute.

I got it last month for my birthday and been having a blast! If you're in the US make sure to switch the region switch when you get it. Let us know if you have any questions getting it set up and running games on it. :)

Region switch? Mine doesn't have a region switch on it. Mine is official for sure because I got it at Stone Age Gamer.

EverDrive N8 / Re: Save States on Famiclone
« on: October 25, 2018, 06:28 PM »
Save states will not work with most if not all clone consoles that are not 1:1 replicas with Ricoh CPU+PPU.
Moreover, save states will not work with some of the older most common official Famicom consoles from Japan which have Rev.E  CPU+PPU.
Most common American NES is newer Rev.G and Rev.H, also the AV Famicom is Rev.H, save state will work good on these.

Yup I can verify this, I have an older Famicom and it doesn't work perfectly with save states, in most cases the color pallet will go inverted when I load save states.

Question does this firmware have the SA-1 and super fx support as well?

No sir, tweet says so, no support for special chips. probably no space in the FPGA to do both things.

I think he was asking if this firmware still has the ability to play Super FX and SA-1 games, not if they support save states with those games. Yes this firmware supports playing special chip games like Super FX and SA-1.
