Mega EverDrive / Re: Does Mega Everdrive support SMS FM Sound?
« on: October 03, 2016, 05:02 AM »
I can vouch for the db Electronics FM PBC. Works great. If you hold down the pause button as you turn on the system you can boot into normal PSG sound if you want as well.

EverDrive GBA / Can the next OS update force alphabetical order?
« on: October 03, 2016, 04:15 AM »
Got my Everdrive GBA and love it, but the ROMs and folders all appear in the order when I added them to the SD card. Copying the folder to the desktop and back to the card again solves that issue, but if I add a new ROM I'll have to go to the very last page to find it no matter what unless I copy the entire folder over again. I have to deal with this on the GameBoy Everdrive a lot. I know the GBA is powerful enough to sort alphabetically.

Other than that though I'm lovin' it, especially when used with Swift on the Gamecube to force 240p.

EverDrive 64 / Can't run games any more. FAT error. 0xFC
« on: August 26, 2016, 03:33 AM »
My Everdrive 64 was working fine until an hour ago. Now any time I try to launch a game, I get FAT ERROR 0xFC when the menu is trying to do something with the save file. This card worked just fine with saves before. I tried a newer even more modern card (class 10) and I still get the same error, so the issue is 100% with the ED64 and not the SD card. What could it be?

EDIT: I temporarily fixed it by changing the SAVE TYPE in the ED64 options to NO SAVE. What, ideally, should it be set to?

EverDrive 64 / Re: Sega master system emulator?
« on: April 09, 2016, 09:55 PM »
This thread reminds me... I used to have some ROMs back when I had the Doctor V64 thingy (I still actually have it). Anyway these ROMs would be full of ancient arcade games like Burgertime and Popeye which would be emulated by the N64. They ran kind of slow from what I recall. I need to dig out those discs and copy the ROMs to see if they'll run on the Everdrive 64. I don't see why they wouldn't, but you never know for sure until you try. These were all self-contained ROMs and did not have a separate emulator that lived elsewhere.

Cool, thanks. I must have missed that old post where he attached it. Thanks again! :)

Is there anywhere else to get the IPS patch? That site has links to some seriously shady servers. I click download and instead of downloading the proper file, it downloads a .DMG file. Definitely a malware site.

Mega EverDrive / Wonder Boy in Monster World doesn't work
« on: February 23, 2015, 07:01 AM »
When you press START, the game freezes, refusing to advance. I tried multiple different ROMs and I don't have the in-game menu enabled or anything like that. Button presses work fine to skip the demo, it's just when it begins at the title screen, it dies. Battery save issue?

Can anyone test to see if this game works on a regular non-Mega Everdrive?

News / Re: Mega-ED OS v10
« on: November 30, 2014, 01:53 AM »
Future suggestion: Have the Everdrive (any model) ignore the OS folder when browsing games. For example I don't think it is necessary to see the MEGA folder in the root when browsing games via my console.

Why didn't anyone say anything about an unheadered/ no-intro ROM before? I'll try that... if I can find one.

EDIT: Yeah can't find one unless I download a massive set from ISO Zone which has the worst download speed ever. I don't want the whole set, just one game.

Tried the instructions here several times. After I insert my name the game just buzzes and freezes. Every time. Not sure why these things just don't come pre-patched and ready to go. The audio I heard really isn't any better than the SNES audio anyway, just a touch cleaner with some added reverb. I was expecting CD quality.

Disappointed to say the least.

Can't you just switch the controller to digital mode to use the menu?

EverDrive N8 / Re: What about .nsf music files support?
« on: October 10, 2014, 08:44 AM »
Supposedly NSF support is as simple as adding an NSF mapper. I would love to see this. The Powerpak (competitor to the Everdrive) does it. I don't see any technical reason why the NES ED couldn't do it.

EverDrive N8 / Re: Getting Everdrive N8 to work on Retron 5
« on: June 14, 2014, 11:27 PM »
No flash carts work on the Retron 5. The closest I was able to get is the GameBoy Everdrive saying something about INIT but that's it.

Master EverDrive / Re: Master Everdrive - Retron 5
« on: June 14, 2014, 11:26 PM »
OK I just tried. It doesn't see the cart regardless of if the SD is inserted or not. It did not load the came that was on the cart. There is no way for any flash carts to work with the Retron 5 because it doesn't work in a way that allows them to.

I will make sure to try this when I am able to use the Retron 5 next week. I'll report back here if I remember. If it works I'll be sure to mention it on Game Sack.
