EverDrive N8 / Move the MicroSD slot - Famicom N8
« on: May 07, 2018, 11:14 PM »
Hey everyone,
I have a famicom N8 that was once inside of a NES shell with the Gyromite pin adapter and it works great and there was no need to cut a hole/notch for the sd card slot. I like my everdrives to have everything self contained with no card slots when I can. Anywho, I just got into Famicom and imported a system and a disk drive. I'd like to move the N8 famicom board into a real Famicom cart shell. I got my donor game and stole its shell, but the SD card hits the shell when closing it up. I noticed o nthe board where the SD card slot is, there seems to be a contact pad foot print for the card to be moved in as well, just to confirm. I should be able to unsolder the current port and re-solder it in the shifted place and it should still work?

Also, best way to desolder it? I was thinking about using ChipQuik to remove the port, clean the area, and then re-solder it with normal solder

EverDrive N8 / Looking for a awesome NES Cart Label for the N8
« on: June 07, 2013, 05:10 PM »
Any artists here make a really awesome looking label for the Everdrive N8 for a USA cart?

I found a few online, but nothing that screams "USE ME ON YOUR CART!!!"

I'd make one, but alas, I'm talent less :(

thanks everyone! ^-^

Turbo EverDrive / Max Directory Size?
« on: April 03, 2013, 05:20 PM »
I know this has been asked before, I just can't find the answers.
What is the max directory size for the Turbo Everdive?

I did a search and found that KRIKzz once said (for the megadrive version) "max dir size shown in device info." how do I find the device info?
I have several Everdrives, and would like to find out the dir size for each one, without being a bother and asking on each forum topic.

Thanks everyone!!

EverDrive N8 / How are Save Games supported?
« on: February 12, 2013, 12:37 AM »
Hi,
I hope this is a dumb easy question and I hope the answer is "it's just like the everdrive for SNES/N64"

How are save game files handled?

When I play a game, save my progress at a ingame save point, will the N8 automaticly create a .SAV file on the Micro SD card?
or will it be like the PowerPak where you have to have the .SAV file on the card first, and select it each time you want to play the game/use it?

Thanks!!
Can't wait to get mine in the mail!!

Hi everyone,

I have a Gyromite with the convertor. Curious how well will the N8 board (famicon version) fit into a NES housing/shell with this adapter?

Thanks everyone!!

EverDrive 64 / Completely lost here :P CIC?
« on: December 03, 2012, 06:52 PM »
Hey Everyone!
I'm a happy owner of a Super Everdrive, and On December 25th a Turbo Everdrive! These things are great!

Now I have my sights on a EverDrive 64, and I'm reading about the cic's. This is similar to the SNES I'm guessing, where you have to remove a chip from a real cart and solder it in. Whats the best chip to use on a Everdrive 64? where could I find this chip? also what chip can I use to bypass Banjo Tooies Lockout?

I'm completely clueless on the N64 scene.

thanks everyone!

Hey everyone!

The Super Everdrive looks awesome, and I just placed my order. I got just the board so I'll be using a donor cart for the shell. My question is, I don't see the need of having the SD card easily accessed, infact I'd like to keep it completely hidden inside the cart and not have to cut a hole in the SNES cart shell. Figuring I'll load all the roms I want on one SD card, and put the cart together, really no need to have to remove it (and on the rare times when I do, I'll just reopen the cart).

Is there a way to do this? either with some short microSD to SD adapter or something similar?
I'm handy with a soldering iron too if that helps widen my options

thanks everyone!!
