EverDrive 64 / Error 0xF0
« on: October 25, 2016, 10:51 AM »
Hey, I'm working on trying to test various Super Mario 64 hacks on console with different hex edits.  SM74 works great so I tried the edits with 4 other hacks.  Upon trying to load them, I got the 0xF0 error.  This seemed to effect other games as well, until I reset and removed the SD card (it seemed so anyway).  I tried another SD card and same thing.  I should note that I'm already on my second SD card as the larger one I specifically bought for it got all kinds of errors boots and when it finally did work, I couldn't use the reset button.  So I'm not sure if it's the hacks causing it, the SD card or the Everdrive itself.  I would lean towards the hacks but the way it caused my other games on there to load the same way is very weird.

EverDrive 64 / Reset the Game Feature
« on: May 16, 2016, 12:04 AM »
I know I have brought this up in past threads but I thought maybe more people would see it having its own thread.  A feature allowing me to press reset and instead of going to the menu, going directly back into the game like official games do, would be very helpful.  My SD2SNES does this and I believe the 64drive does this as well.  I am completely fine with turning the console on and off to switch games.  I read on one of the pages of the alternative ED64 Menu thread that it's supposed to have this feature by holding start for 3 seconds while in game.  This would be perfect except it did not work for me.  Also the menu seemed rather slow so I went back to the official one.  I often use a Ralphnet adapter with a Gamecube controller and holding start for 9 seconds with that has its own feature so I wonder if that caused the problem.

Anyways, if anyone cares why I need this feature, I could explain that.  So pretty much I'm getting into Ocarina of Time speedrunning.  I really like playing on N64 for the improved control in game (especially with a Gamecube controller), faster pause buffering (than GC, at least), and faster resets (again, more compared to GC).  I tried doing the tricks on GC and it wasn't really working out to well.  I would really like to stick with N64 until I'm skilled enough to make the switch.  If you aren't aware, OoT runs utilize saving and reseting a lot and for a new player, it is the fastest way to replenish resources after failing a certain trick enough time.  I'd really just like some "clean" runs without the menu popping up.  This would also be helpful if I get into the rom hacks and if more are made in the future with console compatibility in mind.  I believe the team behind 3rd Quest was swayed.

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Is the SD2SNES sold out everywhere currently?
« on: December 26, 2014, 09:00 PM »
I was looking around trying to order an SD2SNES recently but it seems like it is sold out or on back order on every site.  Does anyone know a time frame or have a site that's.. harder time find?  I think RetroTower is about the only one available but it's overpriced and seems kind of odd to me.  It says it has a shell but all of the pictures are just boards.  Maybe someone could confirm their legitimacy?
