hello here;
It may be a long shot but i try to contact JF Mateos from http://www.vectrex.hackermesh.org/index.php/en/, to order some stuff, since January, and i can't get any reply. We were in deal about 1 year and half ago, but now he seems to have disappeared.
I'm pretty sure some people here have flashcards from him so i was wondering if any of you had some fresh news.

EverDrive GB / Error "0xD3" just for one specific folder

I have a strange issue. My ROMs are set in letter folders (GB and GBC, and for each one A, D, C, etc"
My EDGB gives me an error 0xD3 just for the "D" ROM folder or the GB catgory.
I fully formated the SD card twice, uncompressed my ROMs a second time to get fresh new folders, and copied back to the freshly formatted SD card, and I still have the same error.
I'm right now formatting an new SD card...
What's that 0xD3 error, and why does it occur for the same named "D" folder, even when formatted and newly uncompressed ?

Every one who ever played Turok 2 must have raged against the slight-but-so-annoying delay that cripple the gameplay. Specially in C-Buttons and Jump.
As the N64 scene is pretty active here (looking toward saturnu, Trevor, Ozidual, Aroenai and so much others), i was wondering if any of you, talented coders, could at least explain to my nescient person why this particular game has such plague.
And maybe correct this by an eventually patch...

Off Topic / Looking for a Nintendo DS upper screen cover

my Nintendo DS has its top screen scratched.
As you could guess from the topic title, i'm looking for a new one (not the screen itself, only the plastic cover, i hope you understand what i mean).
I thought that it would be easy but actually, i can't find one.
Does anyone know a shop for that kind of parts ?

EverDrive 64 / Jet Force Gemini, you little joker...

Well,
just wanted to note something i just spotted.
If it was already well know, well, forgive me.

First, my setup :
- plasma screen
- N64 NUS-001(FRA) RGB modded
- Everdrive64 with PAL CIC
- OS 2.04
- Jet Force Gemini (E) (M4) [f1]

Before launching the game, i set the save type on SRAM (i tried SRAM128, but i didn't notice anything). Don't know if it useful, as it seems to go back to FLASH each time i turn the n64 off.
EDIT : reading this topic http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=725.0, i understood why the save setting didn't remain. What a dumb -_-, please don't laugh.

So, this is the spotted info :
- If the Everdrive itself is setted on NTSC (pressing "Z" to reach main menu, then Option), and even if the Everdrive has a PAL CIC i recall, Jet Force Gemini will boot, play and save as normal
- If the Everdrive is setted on PAL, the game will freeze (black screen) after either the landing on Goldwood if you start a new game, or just after character select if you continue a previous saved game
- If the Everdrive is setted on M-PAL, the game will act as NTSC setting.

So the JFG cracked PAL version seem need to be played in NTSC or M-PAL setting for the Everdrive.
If someone could test and check this. It's late, i could be tired and missunderstand what i've done ^^

I can remember people asking for tips in order to play JFG PAL version, and i xould understand why it was working for some, and not for others...

EverDrive 64 / Something to know about SD card formatting

Hello;
i didn't know how and where to post the following, so i'll post this here, and i hope this information will spread over each sub-forum (or some good links as Micro-64.com)

I had many issue with my Everdrive64 a few days ago.
I had formated the SD card to organize my ROMs, and it stopped working.
I spent a few minutes (hours ?) to point out the issue.
I use to name my SD card according to its purpose (SAMSUNG for my phone, NIKON for my camera).
I wanted to name the SD card dedicated to the flashcard "Everdrive 64" but it was too long.
So i namad it "ED64", pretty smart as we often use MEGAED, EDGB or this kind of name. Yes, yes, i think you understand now what is the problem ; but i didn't think about it at the moment.
So ,when i booted the Nintendo64, it told me that it couldn't find the OS.v64 file, although it was working a few minutes ago (before formatting and so renaming).
The issue is the name itself, ED64, the same as the OS folder. I thought that the Everdrive would search in /ED64 folder (for exemple F:/ED64) but it seems to use the name of the SD card itself as a usable address word.
I hope this misadventure will help some people here (i can read some issues with the same "behavior".

Well, i was wondering something.
Would it be possible to have a complete list of all the errors numbers for each system ?
It's a common ask in the different part of this forum (Hello, i have ERROR 0752, what does it mean ?)
It could help customers to troubleshoot themselves their systems (or at least those who would be able to use/understand the error itself).
Obviously it give more work to Krikzz now, but it could rid of some work later.

i'm talking to all the techs in this forum :)
i have no knowledge about PIC programming.
i would like to learn and try with a SuperNES SuperCIC.
My question is :
- could you advise me a PIC programmer (there are so many models, it's pretty hard to choose).
- and could you advise me some PIC chips (brand, model)
in order to get a good start.

Super EverDrive / DSP installation... failed ?

Hello
Well, i did the mod for DSP-1 for my SuperEverdrive, i bought a DSP-1 "kit" with all parts from a guy.
I used those chips:

@1990Nintendo
DSP1
068
9047HX717


Toshiba   9036H
74HCU04AP JAPAN


and the clock generator.


I have a V1.6 cart.
Now i soldered everything in place, tested it.
The screen is flashing, picture and sometime sound. I can boot (and may play) Mario Kart but the screen is always blinking.
Can it be a compatibiliyty issue between Toshiba 74HCU04, DSP-1 and my PAL SuperNintendo ?
