EverDrive GB / Anyone else have truble playing some rom hacks?
« on: July 03, 2018, 11:20 PM »
IDK. i got the latest smokmonster gb pack for the x7 rev A. it seems some hacks don't play on my gba. like metroid 2 gbc hack and some pokemon one's just some i tried. maybe they worked on a gbc or something or the old gb everdrive. I get the same issue with the gb player for the cube. I tried pokemon black which is just a gb game and get the same issue with my normal GB.
Tried those roms on higan and still does the same thing, but they work fine with VisualBoyAdvance.
I dought that it's a bad download since most of the games work other then those hacks and some hacks actually work.
I only made this topic knowing that the smokemonster pack is picked and tested to work on real hardware. Anyone know whats going on or did he just put a bunch of roms this time and dumped them all in a folder.
The group that puts the smokemonster packs are awsome anyhow.

Off Topic / EZ-Flash Omega Anyone got one yet?
« on: May 08, 2018, 01:18 AM »
Can someone please see if link cable support works. Just curios does this have ds play also if you have a ds device that can play from second slot? How are you liking it.
Im getting tempted, It plays everything fine so it seems from other people who have it.. Any reported hickups?. savestats are unrilable like some of the everdrives I hear but good to have when the game works with it. Cheats is my main reason also and a reason I didn't buy the x5.
But I have this feeling that the everdrive gba x7 is coming in the near future why else would they call the one we have now x5 and everyone knows everdrives are quality thou the omega is prob cheeper by a bit. I hope to see the x7 in the 2019's and hope it has everything the omega has but better. I have a very old gba flash cart that alright for the mean time it just doesn't support hc cards so Im stuck with low capacity cards that are so hard to find now.

I am really holding back on getting one of these only cause I like putting cheats in my games. For me it's sometimes more enjoyable.
I already have a enchant flash cart for gba that will do for the time being.
I am thinking there may be a x7 in the future, why else would they call it a x5 since the other carts for other systems have a x3, a x5, and a x7. x7 usally has savestats which work ok most of the time but not reliable, but still a grate option. Hopefully by then he will implement cheats.
He should just put a cheat option in all his other carts also that doesn't have it for people like me..

Off Topic / Good cheat device for the snes?
« on: February 21, 2018, 10:58 PM »
Im going to get a cheat device for the games I have since the sd2snes is a pain to get cheats to work at the moment. Well didn't even try it yet but I got the main idea how to do it.
THe thing is I hear the game genie doesn't play extended chip games like super mario rpg and yoshi's island. Im bummed I wanted to cheat in super mario rpg.
Anyways I hear there are different versions of the gamegenie. WHat one works with any snes model? I think I got the early 2 chip console. I only know this cause RGB isn't so crisp. Thou It should work fine with my super nt.
I remembered about the super ufo and remembered it can play carts on it. Looking at the amazon page it says it allows for cheats. Can you use cheats using your real cart? Does it allow to use the extended chips like super mario rpg, THats if cheats for it even exist. THey may since emulation exists. I gotta look for them and see.
Im going to also get some muilti carts repro's, I hope I don't have any troubles with them. I contacted the guy who makes them and he said that his carts should work fine with the cheat device but he doesn't own one to know for sure. I was thinking, wouldn't it be a different code cause the game has been altered. Meh I hear it may work from other sources.

Off Topic / Replacing pin connector for sega master system?
« on: November 23, 2017, 03:34 AM »
Just wondering how I would replace the pin connector and which one i should look for?
Do I need to solder it in? I got a cheep soldering iron from radio shack back in the day. The one that takes a long time to heat up, it also came with a de-soldering thing. I gotta ask my buddy from work if I can borrow his weller one. I have the long sms if that helps

Is this it? It doesn't have the to wings to screw it in. thou it's third party i think.
http://www.tototek.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22&products_id=78&zenid=g28524dhb2c0fpplvp0rssv6s7

Would this work also?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/805-Series-3-96mm-Pitch-50P-2x25-Pin-Card-Edge-Connector/310575278435?epid=1738210096&hash=item484fbaa963:g:A2AAAOSw~jpZ0c32
I dought that will work thou.

I don't know what happen. Went to try it one day and pins at the end are damaged.

I am thinking that even calling the gba everdrive a x5 version would hint in a x7 in the future just like the gb ever drive has.
I already own a m3 lite sd so i can hold on a bit longer, also would be nice to have every game in one cart then a few like i have to do with my m3 lite cause of the space limitations.it can't play bigger games but most of those are multi games anyways. Savestats would be nice, thats the main reason i want to wait and gameshark codes.

Just wondering it feels like an entreaty already. They said it was possible from the start. Thats why I spent the extra cash for this. They gotta figure this out soon I hope. Or someone find a way to patch the roms to use the special chips the sd2snes has or something instead.

Off Topic / THey should make a fpga mame console.
« on: November 03, 2017, 10:07 PM »
It would be a amazing idea if they just make a fpga mame console. It would be alot of work getting all those arcades, sure. But maybe we can get a working arcade perfect version of mvc 2 that way.
Mame arcades and popular these days anyways. Stick one of those in one of those custom arcade cabinets and call it a day. Or just hook it up to your tv.
