EverDrive N8 / NES Metroid / 002D RAM Address
« on: March 04, 2018, 03:53 PM »
There are some discussion going on in Metroid speedruning community
Metroid didn't overwrites 002D RAM address on it's own and because US Metroid have broken RNG calculation  some enemies that suppose to be random are not random. And patterns of those enemies depends on what was in that 002D RAM address on startup.

It's unknown if Everdrive's OS overwrites that 002D byte. If it does then Everdrive can be disallowed in that game or something like that. Is it possible to make OS upgrade or something so that 002D didn't touched by Everdrive so speedrunners will be happy?

Is there any way to make this hack to work on everdrive? Seems like everdrive supports this mapper, but game shows a black screen after tittle screen

EverDrive N8 / Save States with second controller

It's impossible to make / load save states with second controller. This is very inconvenient if you trying to practice Battletoads with Zitz

EverDrive N8 / Everdrive's Menu and Arkanoid II controller
« on: October 20, 2017, 08:26 AM »
Seems like Everdrive's menu doesn't properly work if you connect Famicom's Arkanoid II controller and normal controller at the same time. Like if you press d-pad on normal controller - nothing happens. You can't select anything in menu. But in Arkanoid II you can use normal controller or Arkanoid controller without disconnecting anything (it depends on witch controller you press button to enter the game). So in order to play games that supports arkanoid controller you have to connect it after selecting the game. I wounder if there is any solution to that or i did something wrong.

I start playing some games with my hand made PAL Famiclone and i have some troubles with everdrive. In Shadow on the Ninja there is like annoying glitched horizontal lines all over the background. It starts glitching like that from level 4 and continue to the end of the game. I don't have original Kage cart to compare it with everdrive, but all my bootleg carts works fine. Also this game works fine on AV Famicom + everdrive.

OS v16
0:25 - everdrive
01:35 - bootleg multicard

EverDrive N8 / Crazy Request - Wav PCM Player
« on: June 28, 2017, 09:13 PM »
It would be so cool and amazing to have an option to play Wav files using everdrive by using NES DPCM sound channel or something (not extension audio pins in famicom's cartridge slot). Something like in this video: at 03:30
I know it's stupid, unnecessary and maybe even impossible to do. But it would be one of the coolest things ever

EverDrive N8 / Jurassic Park - Glitched Lines on Ocean logo
« on: June 06, 2017, 06:53 PM »
Recorded with AV Famicom. Around 00:15 you can see glitched horizontal lines in Ocean logo. This exact graphical glitch also happens in some not that accurate emulators like QuickNES.
