SanDisk Ultra isn't working for me
and some old shitty 512mb card is working.

so it's not totally wrong ^^
Let me put it this way - changing sd card helps, but just putting sd or sdhc card won't work. Old 2G or less in size cards tend to work (with os V2 on all gameboys, classic, color or advance), but this recommendation is not bulletproof. It may work with osv2, and it may not.

EDGB OS v2

Compatible SD Card:
Any SD card is Spec version 1.01
-SDSC card

Any SD card is Spec version 2.00
-SDHC (normal type)

This is not true. Not just there are a lot of reports that "compatible" cards don't work, but even cards that work do this on per device basis (work on some gameboys, fail on other)

Access Time need be 0.81ms or lower, anything more than 0.93ms, will fail to load OS
(according to sd2nes' sd card page)

This is a good answer, but it still eludes me why same everdrive gb with same sd card boots os v2 on gameboy classic, and refuses to do so on gameboy color and advance.

what are are class speed and seek time of these mircoSD cards?

SP and Verbatim are class 4, unbranded card is, well, 2gb in size. No more markings on it. Under seek time you probably mean access time - I have to run IOMeter to test, will do it later - repeatable test setup consumes some time.

Here's my test results, using the same microSD card:

US Super Gameboy: Works.
JP Super Gameboy 2: Works.
US Gameboy Advance (non-SP): Reboots into last loaded game.
US Gameboy Player on US Gamecube: Reboots into last loaded game.

Has anyone out there gotten v2 working on a non-SP GBA or the Gamecube Gameboy Player?

I found a reason for my problem - it's sd card. EDGB is picky aboud sd cards, but OSv2 is even more demanding.
I started swapping sd cards, and absolutely unbranded 2G microsd card from aliexpress worked! silicon power 8g microsd(hc) booted OSv2 only on classic brick, verbatim 8g microsd(hc) made EDGB to show hex error on power on.

So, now I got OSv2 tested working on: Classic DMG-01, Color CGB-001, Advance AGB-001, Advance SP AGS-101.
Format tool used: windows format to FAT32, sector size 4k.
Card used: noname 2gb microsd card (only one that worked for v2 on every device I could test)

Weird. I just updated mine. My GBC, GBASP (with a super low battery charge), and GB Pocket all load up fine.

Perhaps try formatting the card?

Tried that, with sdformatter. Didn't help. When update file is removed boots fine on GBC. Updated os resets.
Works perfectly on GB classic.

Just try yo reinsert sd card, probably cart can not read sd card and launch last game, even not boot OS at all

Tried that. With no manipulation with sd card EDGB with OSv2 in gameboy classic works (blinks init twice, than boots os v2), in gameboy color blinks init twice (like striggles to load os v2), resets to last game. Absolutely reproducible. Maybe GBC current or voltage is low to drive edgb osv2 boot? It's only 2 batteries, after all.

Fancy that - same everdrive works fine on GB classic "brick", bootloops to last flashed rom on GB color. (with os v2 installed)

For those who tried to load this os file as I did - it should not be loaded manualy, put gbos.gb into EDGB folder of sd card - it will load itself on boot.

EverDrive GG / Re: Games that don't work
« on: July 28, 2015, 01:22 PM »
I agree to that. I own Everdrive GB, which is awesome, but if Everdrive GG can't run all games from something like "top 10/25/50" lists - for the same amount of money I'll just buy the used carts, they are like really cheap. Sorry to hear that, anyway, considering how awesome other sega krikzz products are.
