Some games will not work when the Mega Key is in software mode.

The Mega key operates in software mode when connected through a Sega 32x, or any other system the cart detect as incompatible with Megakey Hardware mode.

What console revision are you using?

I've got one of those, RTC never worked no matter what I did.
I ended up removing the time crystal x402 (32.768Khz) and soldered another that I removed from an old motherboard, now it keeps time, although it gets behind, fixing some minutes after awhile is better than having to adjust it every time.

Delete the bin, rf and rbf files from sdcard root

Extract the entire MEGA folder from the OS zip file into sd card root.

OP should've posted edgba x5 mini, for my method to work it needs to be the game save file, not the goomba emulator save file.

I failed to notice the mini, my bad.

Follow lee4 instructions, then follow mine with the extracted saves.

With old crts those dots appears on overscan area. So not remember them is expected.

Put the save you want to import in a different folder in your sd card.

Load the menu, navigate to the target game and tap A once, select load only, navigate to the save file, tap A once, select copy to sram then press start.
The game should load with your save and backup to the save folder normally.

Everdrives presents the game to the hardware like a standard cart for most games. The unlicensed games software can detect this if the developer program it in.
I will edit this post with CRC of the pocket monster clean and cracked versions.

Some unlicensed games only works when launching using it's hardware cart, flash carta and emulators fails to run them.

Top fighter 2000 MK VIII is an example, the game locks up when a character is loaded with clean dump, only the "cracked" version works fine with Everdrives.

Those unlicensed game producers funnily enough didn't liked to see their games working on game copiers hence the software can detect if it is running on a cart or a flashcart/copier/emulator and lock itself up.

Of course emulators receive updates that tricks the software into thinking it's running on it's real cart.

On my x5, there is a "cracked" version that loads into game but it randomly freezes. Ntsc model 2.

I've seen posts here talking about using 1.6V Zinc Nickel rechargeable batteries.

This is a long shot, but did you tried pulling the cartridge a bit after inserting it completely?

The games I'm going to mention don't work well with the X series of Mega Everdrive, they probably always worked on Master Everdrive carts, can you check James Bond 007, Lion King and Pit Fighter?

Ok, but I asked for the console's pcb revision, open it again and look it up please.

I've seen some console models go bananas with some games. And test with games that are known to work with pal 50hz (optimized games).

If you still have problems see if you can send it to Krikzz.

Did you tested with another console?

If the problema is your system, you can have problems even with Terraonion cart.

Remember that the save state and in game menu will not work in some games or with the 32x connected.

How "exactly" did you pressed the cart button?

It seems that the Everdrive went bad, but do you have another retail cart to check this?

What is the revision of your console? It is printed in the PCB.
The cart button opens a menu mid game or reset the system (there is an option to change it's behavior, can you fiddle with it?

If possible you should try with other consoles to rule out a chance of the problem be your console.
