Off Topic / Does anyone have any news from JF Mateos ?
« on: April 25, 2019, 12:19 PM »
hello here;
It may be a long shot but i try to contact JF Mateos from http://www.vectrex.hackermesh.org/index.php/en/, to order some stuff, since January, and i can't get any reply. We were in deal about 1 year and half ago, but now he seems to have disappeared.
I'm pretty sure some people here have flashcards from him so i was wondering if any of you had some fresh news.
Thank you

EverDrive 64 / Re: Can the iQue games be played on the EverDrive 64?
« on: December 27, 2018, 10:47 AM »
You can with all of them, but with compromises:
  • All games do not save like the N64's typical format, they'll have to be pre-patched. Only Chinese Starfox has a patch for it. Unless of course Krikzz updates the OS with iQue save support.

  • There may have graphical side-effects like random garbage on the border that shows on LCD displays. CRT's may hide this.

  • Due to the iQue's power being bottle-necked by the N64, games like Chinese Starfox 64 that's less laggy then its N64 counterpart will run like the standerd N64 version, albeit with graphical flaws.

Thank you for those interesting informations :)

Off Topic / Re: everdrive for GameCube?
« on: October 09, 2018, 02:06 PM »
As ODE for gameCube, there was the Wiki Fusion (WKF) then the WASP (WKF clone) but they are now sold out everywhere. It's still possible to find some time to time on forum markets.

There are now 2 projects going :

http://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=3234  this one seems pretty close to release.

http://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4105  this one is still far from release, but stil WIP

SD2SNES / Re: SD2SNES ver.F to ver.H Mod Board upgrade
« on: August 30, 2018, 09:41 AM »
Yes it works, too. You need an additional step though: https://github.com/borti4938/SNES-AddOn-PCBs/blob/master/sd2snes_RevH/Installation/01_Preparation_RevG.jpg
This step is not present in the German CiBo-tutorial.

is this real or fake www.tototek.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_8_11&products_id=213

http://retrorgb.com/sd2snes.html

I don't see in the krizz store

The design is quite simple and free to everyone. In my opinion it's good to see some stores offering that for quite a good value.

- can you confirm that we have to remove FB342 and short it (the component that he forgot to mention in his pics like here :
https://github.com/borti4938/SNES-AddOn-PCBs/blob/master/sd2snes_RevH/Installation/01_Preparation.JPG
and why do we have to remove it (i like to understand what i do :)

- can i use the removed FB342 to replace FB341, and does it have a polarity ? Why do we have to let FB341 in place ?

Got you back via email. In short:
- yes. But also no problem if someone don't do that. I haven't done it until today.
- IMO, yes. FB341 is the connection to the power supply of the audio DAC and op amp.
(on rev. G FB341 connects the circuit to 5V, which is too high - see first part of this post)

I did the mod, everything seems to work.
Thank to everyone helping.
now it's time to update to the new firmware :)

hey, 'llo borti :) nice to read you.

I must apologize. I wanted to take a bit of advance, getting all the informations needed before receiving my amp board.
BUT i was a bit too fast. I could check my SD2SNES (it's not at my home actually), and it doesn't look like the one described in your github. I may have asked some dumb question :/
Mine looks more like this one :
http://retrostuff.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/sd2snes_07.jpg
This last one is a Rev. E1 modded to a rev. F.

Mine is a Rev. F, but what should be a FB342 is labelled JP341. I don't know if it matters, if it's just the name that change.

I think i'll follow your github, and leave JP341 in place.

Oh, and by the way, as i could check my SD2SNES, i could see i kept the FB341 in place (rotated 90° like in the Rev. G mod). I'll resolder it in its place. Sorry for the unuseful question :/

Is there any site that list all the revision of SD2SNES, with pics and description ? because it's becoming quite a jungle :D

Thank you for all people helping noobish like me :)

hey ikari_01, i would need your help.
Reading the github of borti4938, i have a few questions. I tried to contact borti but for now, no luck.

I have a Rev. F that i already modded to Rev. G ; and I would like to use his board to mod it to Rev H.
As it's already modded, i think i get rid of the FB341 component, just like in this pic :
http://www.directupload.net/file/d/4337/sev78gad_jpg.htm
I can't check for now.
Sadly now, it's needed again for the Rev. H mod.
So these are my question :

- can you confirm that we have to remove FB342 and short it (the component that he forgot to mention in his pics like here :
https://github.com/borti4938/SNES-AddOn-PCBs/blob/master/sd2snes_RevH/Installation/01_Preparation.JPG
and why do we have to remove it (i like to understand what i do :)

- can i use the removed FB342 to replace FB341, and does it have a polarity ? Why do we have to let FB341 in place ?

Thank you for your help.

So I guess RedGuy gets his bounty now.

And he deserve it so much

I will start integrating it. It will likely take a week or so. ;)

Awesome. Thanks.

Hey, if I'm not mistaken there was someone on here who was offering up a rather large bounty to whomever could get Super FX games working on the SD2SNES. When questioned about it, he said he would definitely pay up, but only if it was part of the official FW.

Well.. I hope this guy kept some cash in his PayPal account because it's about to be official. :)

And I hope he's a man of his word because Redguy definitely deserves it.

Damn, you're right, now you make me think of it.
Now, about to find this guy...

'llo !
you mean it's related to the RAM chip itself ?

Yes, thats what I mean ^^

So one should start a chip list with bug report.

EDIT : post 666 !

V7 and the ram timing is the solution for older hardware revisions of the sd2snes.
Rev e1 works fine with v7.

thx for the great work!

This has nothing to do with the hardware revs at all. I have a Rev E, too and never had problems. It's a RAM problem and which was used by your vendor.

A little post to give you all my congratulations for your work.
Last time we had so much hype in SNES sphere was when the SNES-CD was discovered.
Do you realize how much hope you give to the SNES community :)
Nice to see people with such gift.

now, the question is... will it be your only project... ? ;)
