News / Re: EDN8 OS v20-BETA. Large update incoming

Just chiming in to say I was getting endless IO errors to the point where it was unusable with the beta versions of v20, but the RC versions are working.  Nothing about my setup has changed other than installing the new OS.  The only issue I have seen now is ERROR:65 (Disk IO error) when resetting from an FDS image.

The ongoing IO issues people are having are not likely related to fragmentation.  KRIKzz has even said, if I'm not mistaken, that IO errors are not caused by fragmentation and that fragmentation issues will result in a solid green or black screen.

I have tested my setup (US Frontloader, BIOS 5, CPLD 2, SN 3903) several times and will do additional testing with various other brands and types of SD cards.  I'm sure there are more than enough people who would be willing to help troubleshoot if KRIKzz needs it, myself included of course.

Even with Beta 2 I'm still having IO Errors. :'(
I tested three times in a row. I renamed the old OS folder to EDFC-OLD1, EDFC-OLD2 and EDFC-OLD3.
Again, no issues with OSv16.
Am I the only one?

I'm having I/O errors with this beta version as well.  v20b1 gives me some I/O errors on occasion as I browse directories, but I can still play games without any problems if I can load one before the I/O error occurs.  With v20b2, I get nothing but I/O errors and cannot even load directories or view files.  v16 works perfectly fine still, on the same card with the same formatting as I tried v20 on.

The LEDs are very bright and if your SNES is in a low-light area you can easily see the lights through the universal shell without the need of light pipes.

Since the lights are nice but not necessary unless for troubleshooting purposes, I actually prefer it this way.

EverDrive N8 / Re: Cloned Everdrive help? Look no further...

I wasn't aware until recently but eBay's return policy states if you purchase a counterfeit item from a seller, you can get your money refunded and should NOT return the item.  This goes for any bootleg item that is sold as genuine.  So if you're going to risk it and buy an Everdrive through an unverified 3rd party, getting one through eBay isn't a bad idea as if you get a counterfeit you essentially get it for free.
