EverDrive N8 / Re: N8 (non-Pro) future support
« on: July 12, 2020, 03:54 PM »
Will the new mappers added to N8 Pro be added to the old N8 cartridge ?
Yes, just no bug fixes.
Thank you very much for your answer ! Great to hear ! I Just bought a used N8 (non-Pro) :)

About no more bugfixes is this a statement of krikzz ? And about new non-Pro OS release, should it be available at the usual krikzz site ?

EverDrive GB / X7 latest OS - Captain Knick Knack won't start
« on: June 01, 2020, 07:51 PM »
Tested GB rom Captain Knick Knack with GB and GBC (many models) but the rom won't start. It loads the Nintendo logo but hangs at a blank screen. 1st game I have with this problem.

EverDrive N8 / Re: New Everdrive N8 - Green screen + garbled graphics
« on: February 01, 2020, 06:10 PM »
Sorry to resume this topic but I think I got the real root of this issue:

the problem seems to be the CPU (chip named RP2A03); if you have RP2A03 you will probably have issues while using RP2A03G (chip revision G) all the problems seem to be gone. RP2A03 may be named just RP2A03 or RP2A03H or with other letters; G letter seems to be the best one for compatibility with EverDrive and multi-in-1 cartridges (usually black screen with multi-in-1).

Turbo EverDrive / Re: Turbo Everdrive V2 Fat System Not Found?
« on: October 15, 2019, 06:10 PM »
I have a TubroEvcerderive V2.5.

I used a 2GB card FAT32 formatted with 4096bytes cluster and it worked.

1GB card FTA16 or FAT32 formatted with all possible combination of clusters = not working.

There surely is an incompatibility with some microSD cards.

Is there a way to restore an Everdrive GG to factory defaults ? (without anything already pre-loaded)
I tried re-flashing the firmware without success...

Another question I have: is everdrive GG compatible with OS-v1 and OS-v2 ? Reading the cheangelist it seems that GG support was available only from OS-v4... what happens if I flash a <OS-v4 to my Everdrive GG ?

EverDrive GG / Re: Use everdrive gg on a real master system?
« on: June 13, 2019, 12:10 PM »
Well I managed to built a GG -> SMS adapter and everdrive gg menu loaded fine but when I flashed some games, GG or SMS, I get a black rectangule in the middle of the screen and the console hangs; after some tests (do not remember exactly which games I flashed) now I receive a "software error" message (this is a bios message) when booting my console (master system 2 with alex kidd preinstalled. The everdrive still works fine on my game gear.

Flashing a SMS bios the adpater+everdrive is totally bypassed (no software error message) and the original console bios starts. If anyone has some hints feel free to contribute :)

well the adpater WORKS ;)

You definitively CAN use an Everdrive GG on a real Master System 1 or 2 :)

EverDrive GG / Use everdrive gg on a real master system?
« on: May 19, 2019, 10:12 AM »
Hi guys, will it be possible to use an everdrive gg inside a real master system re-routing the correct pins (more than 20 i suppose) ? If so i will try to build an adapter (i already have the connectors to do it). THe redirection pinout can be found here:

Here they are some pics if the site will go offiline:

Please Someone let me know that, Thank you :)

EverDrive 64 / Re: How to get GBC games to play on the ED64
« on: May 15, 2019, 11:03 PM »
TL;DR: I want want to emulate GBC and, if possible, GBA, and SNES on my ED64 with in-game sound.

I've gotten Gameboy games to play on my Everdrive 64 running the latest OS, V2.12. Unfortunately, the emulator that I managed to get working doesn't emulate sound and only plays the same tune over and over. The one I got working is "GBlator for NTSC Dr V64 (PD)." This emulator works with .GB ROM files, but not .GBC or .GBA files (even if I rename them). The emulator has some decent color adjusting and screen stretching features, and it loaded Pokemon Blue's frame when I tested it. It was only a little slower at some parts than what I remember on original handhelds, and there were some minor color issues that I'd attribute partly to the difference between my bright CRT and a dim, original GBA/GBC screen -- nothing horrible, graphically or speed-wise -- but without in-game sound I'd rather stick to emulating on my PC where I can hear what I'm supposed to.

In order to get GBlator's emulator to work, I had to do a bit of guesswork, and I wound up renaming GBlator's .z64 rom to "" and placing it in the ED64 directory similar to the emu.nes file so that .GB ROMs would launch automatically like .NES ROMs. I couldn't figure out any other way to get Gblator's emulator to work, though it did boot by itself with its original .Z64 extension as well, but gave me an empty frame.

Other GB/C emulators I've tried without success include Nintendo WideBoy 64 by SonCrap (PD) and Gnuboy 64.  Gnuboy was the only one that actually came with directions but it gave me an error about not being able to load the bg. On the other hand, SonCrap's would start just like Gblator's, but only a blank or random static-y screen displayed in the frame. The same happens, incidentally with the SNES9x emulator for the ED64 that I've tried.

If you've read this far, thank you!
What I'm hoping for is any help I can get to properly set up GB/C and hopefully GBA and SNES emulation (preferably with sound, but I'll take what I can get) on my ED64. (Yes, I know they're generally slow and buggy and the SNES ROMs are basically unplayable, but I'd still really like to know how to get it to work.) I've thought of trying an older OS, but I'd like to avoid tinkering with something I'm uncertain about, since that starts to eat up quite a bit of time that I could use to instead play Paper Mario.

How have y'all gotten GB/C games to play on your ED64s? And is there an emulator for GBA games? No matter what I've tried, my ED64 won't give me an option to play GBA games like it does GB and GBC games.

Use this gnuboy version (emulator in the SD root) it should be the user saturnu's version:!bkEVlQpZ!54savdVT_fD0mv0C_LormnK5DKGAXffQTk3weN2gzNI and put roms (GB/GBC) under SD:\gnuboy\games ; just wait a bit for emulator (and emulated games) to be loaded !

All other emulators (SMS, MSX2, SNES, ScummVM), excepted the nes.emu one, need a rom injection inside the main emulator "rom" file and (unfortunately) cannot be used as nes or gnuboy selecting games from a list.
