The V1 Master EverDrive has a rescue OS installed so you can try to unbrick yourself:

basically start the Master System with the MasterED pressing Up+1+2 (have a SD card ready with the other OSs )

Depending on how old the rescue OS is you may need a small SD card formatted as FAT16 ( FAT32-only support was added in v7 check ).

So I remember that going from FAT16 to FAT32-only version was ... tricky .. can't remember if upon successful flash you get a "bad SD" error or alike, at any rate you need to reformat the SD card (or use a different one) after that.

Krikzz never said if it was possible to flash  the rescue OS itself with a FAT32 only version (like V7 or above) ... pity because it makes it a little more complex to pass that hump in case of bricking.

You said you were on v4 so chances are your rescue OS is v4 or older ... so you may have to go thru an intermediary hop first ... try to go to v5 then v7 ... from there on out you need a FAT32 SD card .... and then v9!

If you brick it again once you are in V7 or higher you need to go back to a FAT16 formatted card (small card, up to 1GB usually work best for this) given the rescue OS stays whatever you have now.

EverDrive N8 / Re: N8 v1.20 official is out
« on: January 14, 2020, 06:46 AM »

Once I realized that the N8 (non-pro) is only supported up to 1.20, I then soon learned you can copy the 1.23 mappers and MAPROUT.bin and just use the 1.20 OS. Wonder how long you can do this for... Seem pretty stable still some occasional errors in menu.

Wrong, if the BIOS comes from here
then it's for the old N8 and 1.23 is right there.
It is possible that on your console/N8 combination 1.23 has issues so a hybrid 1.20 + selected files from 1.23 is better for you, but in general it may not work that well for others.

Did you hear that it now includes support for Virtua Racing? SVP chip?

Likely they just used opensource SVP core which were released recently by Sergey Dvodnenko aka srg320. This core will be used for mega-ed as well

yup, in a post they stated they licensed the SVP core from srg320 ... I believe the core is GPLv3 so the open source part cannot just be used like that (GPLv3 is pretty sticky)

I find it amusing that after all the deserved noise about there not being updates, this one update has not been thoroughly tested by the most vocal members to tell the rest of us what has been fixed/broken.

Did people just lose interest?

Well find out once it is released.

What's the matter with you people? Even Krikzz stated that competition will spur him to make an even better product, it's all good.

And what's the rush anyway? if you NEED it right away buy it, if you do not NEED it wait a little for it to go into consumer hands and take it from there ... it's that easy.

The market is big enough, if not then only one offering will survive and it'll make us deciding even easier!

Time will tell, patience is a virtue, a lot of people have pre-ordered it so it won't be long after they start shipping (mid Aug I think) for the reviews to come in ... if you are in doubt wait for those at least.
If you can wait for Krikzz then up to you ... I have a real MegaCD for now and some (not too many) "backups" and I am perfectly fine for the time being.

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: SD2SNES Pro w/ Super NT Issue Help
« on: June 27, 2019, 07:33 AM »
The SD2SNES creates a database of the files it found directly on the SD card to speed up access on successive start up (as a cache).
I wonder if such file is getting "corrupted" in your case and that's the cause of the issue.

Don't know where to post this, so can a mod split this post into it's own topic, that'd be great.

Now we know why he stopped working on this update for a while! He must have run out of FPGA space for the update and Mappers. 16MB of Rom space, bigger FPGA, and an I/O controller of sorts.

Thanks for linking it, Krikzz himself says that OSv20 "likely will stay as is" ... so yeah .... end of the road, time for N8 Pro.

FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: Firmware v1.10.3 are out.
« on: April 09, 2019, 06:43 AM »
Can I use a 1.10.3 with a theme that was made on 1.10.0?  That's what you're saying, correct?  I don't want to end up bricking it.

I'm using one of those themes with 1.10.3 and it works fine, don't worry about it :)

I'll probably wait anyway, as 1.10.3 is supposedly broken >.>

It's been fixed again.

v1.10.3 is now out again with the fix (it seem it was a trivial cut'n'paste error in a single place).

"Firmware v1.10.3 is up again! The cause of the error was a silly copy&paste bug in a single place which could be fixed and retested easily. Only SuperFX was affected."

We are discussing this on Discord with ikari.
Yes, SA-1 and SuperFX games have issues with 1.10.2 release, graphical glitches and freezes.

Normal, Pro or both, which one the issue?

I respond to myself (from )
"Just to let people know, there’s a bug in this release which affect chip games, mainly in sd2snes non pro.
Ikari is already working on a fix and recommend people to stick to 1.10.1, for now."

The SD2SNES Pro uses the same FPGA' as the Super NT doesn't it?

It appears the SD2SNES Pro uses a Cyclone IV
in specific
Altera Cyclone IV E - EP4CE15F17C8N
It's a 15 K LE parts and it's been around since 2009
(check the date at the very end of the PDF)

So if that's the case it's an older part than SuperNT that uses the Cyclone V introduced in 2011

But check it out by yourself:

The newest member of the family is the Cyclone 10 (which though in a way goes back to 4-LUTs instead of the more advanced fracturable 8-LUTs ALM of the Cyclone V but maybe it ends up being the same) .. who knows what they are doing.
For a while the Cyclone IV disappeared from their website, now even the Cyclone III is back .... they may have found a warehouse of NOS ... LOL
