it is possible to dump NES roms from nes classics / famicom mini gba cartridges.

Nintendo made a few changes to the original roms. they changed the date in the title screen, that is understandable. but the biggest change was to the games' fonts.

as the gba screen has lower resolution than Nes and the screen is much wider, texts were harder to read in gba screen. that is a known problem in PocketNES. but for their nes classics series and famicom mini series, nintendo replaced the fonts so they are perfectly readable in GBA. i compared the original nes rom of the legend of Zelda and the rom i extracted from nes classics version,  both in PocketNES. the difference is night and day.

i couldn't find the GBA extracted NES roms in any ROM set. Gamecube extracted ones can be found,  but not GBA ones afaik.

does anyone have any more info for this?

i have already written a function to write to the cartridge, it's nearly the same as reading. :>
only the gui itself would need some updates. ^^

that is great. bye bye Mega Memory Card, you won't be missed with your corrupted saves.

is the official SRAM capacity of EDGB revealed?

just some sideinfo:

most gameboy games have 8 kilobytes/64 kilobit SRAM. some gameboy and most gameboy color games have 32 kilobytes/256 kilobit SRAM. EMS gameboy 64 mbit USB cartridge has 128 kilobytes/1024 kilobit SRAM which can be used for LSDJ and multiple SRAM saving via alternative menu by mottzilla.

av famicom plus everdrive N8 is what i have and what i recommend. though these days i generally just play pocketnes on my gba micro.

the transfer pak, only could read the cartridge rom/ram and write to the cartridge ram.
if the edgb should be compatible to it, the edgb needs something like a featues to directly let address the flashed rom instead of the menu rom first.

e.g. ejecting the sdcard, result in direct flashed rom mode, like a real cart.

there is no z80 in the transfer pak, which would enable a menu to prepare the cart itself, after power on.
But may be possible to prepare EDGB with help of ED64.

Be awesome if you could make it do that. Pokemon Stadium roms are completely useless without the transfer pak, wouldn't mind buying both products just so I could play it.

i second this, as an owner of v2 everdrive 64 and everdrive gb in the mail.

No I don't want a fancy in-game-menu. I just want ED GB to have the same behaviour as with ED64 and SD2SNES.

Each time I press reset I want ED GB to unload the game rom and to return to the menu. I hope this is technically possible.

it is not possible, because you are just resetting snes not the gameboy hardware. super gameboy doesn't have a reset button, just like the real gameboy. so you have to power off and on to go back to the main menu in gameboy, and just like gameboy you have to do the same with the SNES unless you have an in-game menu which lets you go back to the main rom selection menu.

what you want is "in-game menu". i don't know if it is possible or not i assume not though as this feature requires fpga if i don't remember wrong.

So, did somebody try the GB Boy Colour yet ? I do have a SP but I really like the classic shape the GB Boy Colour has.

my gb boy colour is in  closet now, and i ordered a gb everdrive yesterday. i will test it when it arrives, though i see no reason for it not to work. gb boy colour works fine with ems 64 mbit cartridge.
