EverDrive 64 / Re: Kaillera support ?

That's not really possible or very unlikely I think. The only way I could think it could work would be to plug the USB port of the ED 64 and somewhat use that as the interface to a computer but the latency would make it unplayable IMO. But I guess that's just another ''nobody'' answering you ::)

I'm pretty sure he meant the ability to adjust the clock rate through software, which is completely feasible in a FPGA based console.

EverDrive N8 / Re: Old TVs. N8 to the rescue ... ?

I would advice against messing inside the TV set yourself. CRT TV Tube carry enough voltage to kill you a few time. You can get decent CRT TV for free these day if you look in the ads. People are just getting ride of them and you can get pretty nice one for next to nothing.

Xexyx is marked as supported on the list, i just tried "xexyx (usa).nes" on my pal nes and although the game boots to the menu screen, then lets me press start to play, it hangs as soon as the level is loaded (background is shown, but no character sprites)
i'm aware that it could be the rom i'm using, or even the fact that it's a USA rom on a pal console, but if not then i'm assuming the list want amending mebbe?

You pretty much answered your own question. Ntsc nes game on Pal console and vice versa will be problematic on many occasion.

No it doesn't list FDS game unfortunately. But they are pretty much all supported as far as I know (beside not so perfect extra sound channel support for now).

Fixed how? Leave the solution to other people that might someday have the same issue that you had.

EverDrive N8 / Re: New Super Marios Bros. 3 SRAM hack available!

I personnaly think it had more to do with reducing production cost in a time where focus was shifting from the nes to the snes. Battery backup was already used for a while in game that came out way before smb3 and nintendo would have been fully capable of adding save feature to the game if they had wanted. It was always my opinion that smb 3 was developped with sram backup in mind and then got removed at some point in development.

In term of supported mappers, the Everdrive N8 should now have more than the Powerpak. Now in term of actual compatibility for the supported mapper, this is still somewhat debatable. While the Everdrive N8 has more mappers supported, I personally feel that the third-party mappers of the Powerpak were more stable and reliable. But then again, they were in development for way longer than the ED N8.

EverDrive N8 / Re: Games NTSC not working well on PAL NES
« on: December 02, 2013, 05:49 PM »
It is normal behavior, the nes game are much more dependent on the clock speed than snes or mega drive are. Some game will work a bit slower than supposed to but many will have graphical glitch and bugs.

EverDrive N8 / Re: Save states and Ninja Gaiden, etc.
« on: November 29, 2013, 02:09 AM »
It is unfortunatly something you'll have to live with as Krikzz mentionned in the past that the save state feature is what it is and has no plan on trying to fix issue with it. So if it work that's cool but if it doesn't work with agame that is using a supposerted save state mapper there's not much to do.

And are you sure it's really Abadox and nos Astyanax or any other of the nes games with weird name? :D

there is a link to the video on the 1st post of this topic

I know, the question was for juhani1982 who is stating it is working for him.

There's an awesome Metroid SRAM hack but it doesn't seem to work on the Everdrive N8 right now. Otherwise, there's the many cool patch from oRBIT2002 that let you play a number of VS arcade game on your NES/Famicom console and also a few SRAM hack. You can find them at http://nes.goondocks.se/patches2.php
