If you did any amount of research like you are claiming, you would have seen this chart on the x7 page information. It is the chart, found on krikzz.com, that you see when viewing the x7. Like, literally right there on the page for anyone to see. Do your research and stop whining.

You are a new user, so I was giving you the benefit of the doubt but in both posts you have all you have done is whine and complain. Stop being toxic and help yourself out next time by doing the research.

If you're gonna spend the money to buy a Mega Everdrive in the first place, spend an extra $10 and get a 16GB micro-sd card to go with it. There is literally no benefit to owning an old model.

It sounds like you're trying to cheap out on your purchase and are worried about chinese clones. Save the money for a new model, buy legit.

x3 does not support the hooks for the in game menu. It also does not support save states as a result of this. You only are able to save your game like you normally would on the actual cartridges.

To get your save written to memory after you use the normal games save function you have to press reset on the genesis to reload the everdrive menu before turning your system off.

EverDrive 64 / Re: What are some amazing Rom hacks

The short answer is because n64 emulation is still awful. And the tools people are using to make these are so hacked together that they don't work well on anything but an emulator --and even then it's still bad.

EverDrive N8 / Re: Games Not Working / Bug Reporting Thread
« on: October 24, 2016, 11:02 AM »
Great work everyone!

Not sure if i am helping or not but i would like to report:

I have not found a working copy of Power Blade 1 OR 2.

Carry on

Dunno why you wanted to resurrect an old post AND create a new post of your own to say the same thing.

You need to find the smokemonster everdrive pack on the epforums. Those copies of Powerblade 1 and 2 work. If that's what you have, redownload the pack. Reformat your sd. Reload the software.

So basically you want the N8...just not with an FPGA. The Everdrive basically does this through hardware emulation (FPGA).

EverDrive N8 / Re: Unofficial Everdrive N8 Compatiblity List
« on: October 21, 2016, 07:31 AM »
Probably a dumb question, but with this list, do all the green lines mean they work on Everdrive?

The majority of games should work fine yeah?

Thanks.

Unless the whole left side of the line is red, you can play it. The green or red Yes/No boxes show whether save states are supported for the rom as well.

The right-most two columns are whether the PowerPak supports those games and save states for a competitive comparison between products.

Mega EverDrive / Re: Saves on Mega Everdrive X5 vs X7?
« on: October 21, 2016, 07:23 AM »
Save states and game saves are two seperate things.

Save states are stored "snapshots" if you will that you, the user, create. These are commonly used in emulators. Example - You are about to fight a boss, or cross a section of a level that is tricky and you may die. So you create a save state right at the moment before entering. You die part-way through and reload your save state to go back to the exact second that you created it.

Game saves are literally what the actual cartridge games did. They use a save system that the game stores on its own or updates whenever you save your game normally in game. x5 only supports these. x7 supports both types.
I'm confused. I'm interested in the X3. I want to play and save my game in Buck Rogers countdown to doomsday, which allows for save and load adventure feature. How will it allow saving. Do I have to manually press the reset button on the megadrive? Confusing

In the case of the x3 the game will perform it's save function as normal in game. But to actually store the save to the everdrive memory (so you can load it later) you would have to press the reset button to go back to the everdrive start screen before turning off your genesis.

The ROM hack scene for N64 is not very robust. Most hacks don't work on actual hardware. And there just aren't many hacks for N64 at all. Mostly Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Super Mario 64.

There are a few hacks that move the Gamecube versions of the 64 Zelda games (OOT & MM) back to N64.

You can view these hacks and most other known hacks here: http://www.romhacking.net/?page=hacks&genre=&platform=27&game=&category=&perpage=20&title=&author=&hacksearch=Go

EverDrive 64 / Re: How do game saves work on the ED64?
« on: October 18, 2016, 10:08 PM »
Basically, unless the ROM is patched to change it, the games behave how they normally would. If they saved to memory paks, they still will. If they saved to internal memory, they will still save to internal memory.

Open it up and make sure you didn't damage anything. You might have just missed the tray when inserting it.

Shop and Shipping / Re: Retrogate - order status
« on: October 18, 2016, 06:14 AM »
I am disappointed with Retrogate.

I ordered something at the end of August, fully aware of the shop slowdown according to the site-wide message, and it took two weeks to ship and a full month from when I ordered to arrive at my address (USA). That seems understandable.

I ordered another item on 10/6, there is no site-wide message alerting of any delays, it is now 10/17 and it still has not shipped. For a store that aims to DELIVER WITHIN 10 DAYS to not have it even ship in that timeframe without any notice or explanation loses my trust. I will probably order elsewhere for the Everdrive in the future.

Just press start once it loads? If you want to play the previously loaded ROM just press start. I know you say you're aware of it, but why does it need to go beyond that?

The whole point of the everdrive for me is being able to have a whole library to choose from, not just one single game. I wouldn't want auto-booting.

The Super Everdrive is Region Free. It can play ROMs from any region. Some games have regional protection on them (like Super Metroid) that prevent PAL games from running on NTSC systems and vice versa. You can patch these roms to bypass the region lock.

StoneageGamer is a reputable reseller for Everdrive. But they will nickle and dime you for every possible cent when you buy from them. You want a cartridge for the pcb? Pay extra. You want stickers on the cart? Gotta pay up, front and back stickers are separate charges. You want screws for the cart to hold it together? That's extra too. It's ridiculous. And then they make you pay sales tax to Indiana or something. They end up costing WAY more than both krikzz.com and retrogate.com for everything they sell.

You could probably buy from either the krikzz or retrogate sites and get a replacement SNES cart for less than what those guys want for their stuff at stoneage.
