EverDrive GB / Error "0xD3" just for one specific folder
« on: February 19, 2017, 12:58 PM »
'llo here :)
I have a strange issue. My ROMs are set in letter folders (GB and GBC, and for each one A, D, C, etc"
My EDGB gives me an error 0xD3 just for the "D" ROM folder or the GB catgory.
I fully formated the SD card twice, uncompressed my ROMs a second time to get fresh new folders, and copied back to the freshly formatted SD card, and I still have the same error.
I'm right now formatting an new SD card...
What's that 0xD3 error, and why does it occur for the same named "D" folder, even when formatted and newly uncompressed ?

The GameBoy Player hardware is not region lock so you can use it on an European GameCube.
Its startup disc is Japan only but you shoud be able to boot it using FreeLoader.

EDIT : by the way, the GBPlayer can play GB, GBC and GBA game from any region.
Instead of boot disc, you could use Game Boy Interface :
if your GameCube is not modded, you can use some of the game's hack :
Good luck !

Hey, i'm so glad this thread took your interest saturnu :)
I think i understood your explanation, but i don't think i have the capabilities to do those code tricks (what are devkit symbols ? and what is the tool to "load" them ?). :D
I'll give a try anyway to the setup good people asked above, this is something i know how to do :]
I hope i'll update this thread this WE.
Thank you very much for showing interest !

I don't think the Expansion Pak is involved in such behavior.

As far as i can remember, it always had this issue, using :
- A/V cable with SCART adapter on 36cm CRT TV
- RGB cable (SNES one) on CRT and Flat TV
- S-Video on CRT and Flat TV
- UHDMI (on flat TV AH AH).

I'll try to test the whole set up this WE.

Well, it's not like a lag in video display or refresh. It's more a delay between input and action.
But I'll give a try too !

Hey, thank you for showing interest i this thread (you're the only one sadly :/ )
I have an overclocked N64 so that's a good idea, but the way the game behaves with an overclocked N64 is not really predictable. Some crash, some are speeded up, some don't show anything more.
I'll let you know !

...Well to be fair the Ford model T and the atari 2600 paddles were both discontinued 89 years and 24 years ago respectively. The Mega Everdrive was discontinued with updates only after a few years on the market. That would be like Nintendo discontinuing the NES in 1989, or The SNES in 1994. So you can see why someone might be a little upset about a product having a short shelf life.

It would not be a bad idea to offer a disclaimer of sorts for people not in the know of how fast this type of technology moves. (Not everyone follows these products like a hawk) Something along the lines of "Please be aware that these products are constantly evolving and may update frequently or not at all etc. etc."

That being said,  the poster of the v1 Mega Everdrive should just sell it to make back some of the money towards a newer Everdrive.

You're right.
So, let's consider this in another way.
When you buy your flashcard, for exemple at kirkzz's store, you have the list of its features, and by reading a bit more in miscellaneous forums, you'll be able to find some compatibility list.
Anyway, at the exact moment when you buy it, you buy its actual features, and you should be aware of the even flaws if they exist. Anything coming after should be considered as bonus.
And if you had to be a bit doubtful 'bout anything of this flashcard, well, don't buy it, wait for the next one.
But you'll soon have the same doubt 'bout that new one, and have to wait for the next...

It has always been this way for all "underground videogame related" stuff, since the first generation copier.

I should ask Atari 'bout my 2600 paddle guarantee... Mine are a bit worn, and i rely on their customer service.

By the way, do you think Ford still has support for their Ford T ?
