Question for everyone about the French translation:  Farting Cabbages or Bomb Flowers?

http://legendsoflocalization.com/qa-does-ocarina-of-time-have-farting-cabbages/

The original French text calls "Bomb Flowers" "Farting Cabbages".  As an example, for the English text I used the 1.2 version, but I kept some MQ stuff in there because the newer text was better in my opinion:

https://tcrf.net/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time/Program_Revision_Differences#Text_Changes_3

Let me know your thoughts.

P.S. Debug is moving along nicely.  The Options screen displays correctly (minus one blue bar).  Next up, I need to add in the code to move down to the languages and change between them.

As a french guy, i would say "Bomb flowers".
Where the hell did they find those farting cabbages" oO ?

Your nice flash drive option are GDEMU and Rhea, both from Deunan.

Well, i can't see what Krikzz could do better than that's already existing for the PS2.
you have 3 ways to set your PS2 :

- IDE HDD, using the genuine PS2 network adapter. The easier, maybe the more compatible. That's the first setup i did for myself.

- SATA, either using IDE-to-SATA adapter (but space will be your issue), either modding the genuine network adapter (a bit tricky), or using the chinese clone network adapter. I have this one (not from this seller):
http://fr.aliexpress.com/item/free-shipping-wholesales-SATA-Network-Adaptor-for-PS2/430359280.html?spm=2114.44010208.4.167.w3oQwd
It has some compitibility issues, i personnaly had some playing Ico (wild freezes while playing). Those issues don't exist using IDE HDD.

- SD card, following this tut' :
http://psx-scene.com/forums/f20/my-ps2-hdd-setup-reading-off-sd-card-adapter-133944/
The last mod i did for myself. I went a bit further than the author, as i used a SD extension flex, and set my SD slot in front of my PS2, under the CD tray. There is plenty of room in the HDD bay to fit the whole.
For now, i didn't spot any compatibility issue, and it's the easier way to remove your storage support.

Hope you'll find this useful...

Why so much need to boast one's collection.
I find it always ill advised and rather pathetic, sort of "mine is bigger than yours" kind of a deal.

But to each his own, some people really like to show a very long list.
Once on AtariAge I saw a list in which an individual was listing not only working consoles, but also all the half broken/half assed he had around and each piece of peripheral or assorted garbage including empty shell, expansion, which controller etc..... , I replied that I own also 20 repair contact domes for the Atari VCS 2600 joystick  ::) should that count?

Seriously, is it really necessary???!!! I guess it is if this is the second time this thread/topic comes up.

I confess I am from the "short dick men" tribe so I have an inferiority complex ..... or not!!!!

Well, i do prefer to see this as a sharing matter, rather than a comparing size.
If you really think this is for despising people, you should visit some oher sites like ASSEMbler ( assemblergames.com ).
There you'll see what collecting means, and realise I'm just a kid here....

Well, we would need something like "penalty box" in Ice Hockey.
Every time someone complains/criticize freely/show whinings 'bout this, this user should be prevent from posting for a designated amount of time...

Well, i'll give you my opinion, and it's only MY opinion, not licensed not endorsed by anyone.

If you have the money, go and buy it. It's a good device, even if it lacks some features. If one day maybe, this feature comes out with a new hardware, sell it and buy that new one.
You'll loose money, you'll had fun for that while.
Enjoy your stuff for the while you have it.
There's plenty of people waiting for a "maybe-coming-perhaps-soon-new-feature-new-hardware"; they'll wait for ages (forever ?) while you'll have fun.
there's so much console with no perfect device... and so ?

The simplest "plug'n'play" would be this kind of item :
https://www.amazon.fr/SCART-HDMI-vers-Convertisseur-signal/dp/B00AYUJCPK/277-4040879-4189901?ie=UTF8&creative=22698&creativeASIN=B00AYUJCPK&hvdev=c&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=&linkCode=df0&ref_=asc_df_B00AYUJCPK33894477&tag=googshopfr-21
I use one with my PS1, the picture is really good, BUT my PS1 is hooked through RGB SCART.
I don't know if composite/scart will give you a good picture.
I can give a try this afternoon if wanted.

EverDrive 64 / Re: N64 flash cartridge by retroactive
« on: May 12, 2016, 02:23 PM »
I must admit that since Everdrive came out, i completely abandonned NeoMyth, and so its forum. I just checked, and it seems that last real update was in 2012... I think this device is now a bit "vintage". What end-users like me really need would be some kind of "semi-automatic friendly noob" software, in order to set their NeoMyth, not as deep as they wanted, but just to make it work with a ROM.
I'm pretty sure that by tickeling you sometimes, one day, for your retirement, youl' be interested enough to get this NeoMyth and code something fancy, like all you already did before :)
And you like that N64 so much...

the 64dd disk compatibility was done by Zoinkity on his 64drive with LaCs old universal bootloader, back from the v64/z64 days.
marshal surely knows enough about the n64 to implement 64dd or gameshark support into his device but so far he just doesn't bother to do so.

old copiers (there are a few more available, i can't remember)
Dr. V64 / Dr.V64 Jr. / Z64 / CD64

flash cart release dates:
yan64bu -> Yet another n64 backup unit - about 16-Oct-2006? https://web.archive.org/web/20070929125523/http://www.crazynation.org/N64/yan64bu.htm
neo myth 64 - December 30, 2009?
64drive - 11. Aug 2011? menu.bin
ed64v1 - 02.07.2011? OS64.bin
ed64v2
ed64v2.5/ed64v3

I have that NeoMyth 64. This system is a hell to set. Software is too much complicated, i think they should have split it for each system, rather than merge all the features and make that all-in-one (plus it's really not noob friendly and a bit too in-deep for standard end-user).
But it was the first one available. A piece of history ^^
Hey saturnu, once you'll be done with all you current project, why not code a simple menu/flasher for that NeoMyth  ;) ?

EverDrive 64 / Re: N64 flash cartridge by retroactive

it supports micro sdcards, too.

but it's lacking some other features you get with the ed64v3 like:
ultracicII - so you switch between both console regions
rtc chip - for animal forest
inbuild gameshark engine - for cheats
inbuld patching features - for rom hacks
direct 64dd conversion support with save feature - you need a usb-cable and a computer attached to save 64dd conversions on the 64drive
direct aleck64 conversion support

i guess the 64drive needs to be cheaper to be a real alternative to the ed64v3

Thank you for giving us those informations, i didn't think that ED64v3 was that higher in specs.
