EverDrive 64 / Re: Who else ordered the V3 ED64?
« on: October 05, 2014, 10:09 PM »
I just placed my pre-order for the (hopefully upcomming) Deluxe Edition from Stone Age Gamer.

When I originally bought my ED64 V1 it was one week before the announcement of the V2 so I've always been a little annoyed by that but didn't really feel I could justify buying another one, so this is finally a good "Excuse" to do so ^^ I'm looking forward to see how much of an improvement it is compared to my V1.

Wish the EDGB Had RTC as well ^^;

Man... Does Krikzz ever sleep? ^^
I'm amazed how this one genius is able to basically rule the entire flash cart scene the way he does while continueing to improve them and come up with new products. He is like a god.

The Xbox One was just released in my territory today, so finally I'm all in on the current gen as well as the old.
I have most of the consoles I'd consider important in my collection. I am missing a few though.
Unless it's a revision, I will only mention one of each of the consoles I own. For Example, I won't mention my 10 PS1s xD

Is it safe to say that you will not add a button to the pcb for gameshark implementation (due to no one implementing it yet so there is no idea how to blueprint it)? That is prehaps the only thing that would convince me to get this, for the ED64 v2 is already awesome.

I had completely forgotten about that button, but this is something I would also really like to know, since I know that a few codes took advantage of it.

Hehe, if we need rumble for Pokémon Pinball, we should have a Gyroscope for that Kirby game as well xD

But, rumble paks usually required an extra battery, and with the Power consumption of the GBE being the biggest hurdle, I doubt such a thing would be feasable ^^

This is my first ED launch. Krizz, will you be selling versions already in a shell? Or does that sort of thing come post launch?

You can't purchase Everdrives directly from Krikzz as far as I'm aware. There are multiple webshops that you can buy them from and some of them will offer to built you a finished cartridge instead of just the board.
Personally, I have bought all of my Everdrives from, since he offers "Deluxe Editions" which comes in a finished and re-painted cartridge with both label and a SD cart, as well as a box and manual. Along with some other swag ^^ And for a very affordable price in my opinion. Great if you just want a finished ready to use product with a great quality feel to it ^^
The board inside is the same no matter what seller you buy from, so the it's only a cosmetic and practical benefit. But that's is exactly what I look for, so that's great ^^

I hope that Stone Age Gamer will have a deluxe edition of the GBE as well. Even if that means that I'll have to wait a bit longer.

Actually gb cart almost ready, but i still want to reduce power consuption and thinking about rtc, so, i will make new prototype boards and it will take some time. I hope that all be done this spring

You are a miracle worker.
It's so great to see a person care so much about the quality of his work, even if the current product might be ready as is.
I really REALLY hope you'll include the RTC but honestly, I'm gonna buy this regardless.  ;D

I would be more than willing to pay extra for RTC support.

It will be compatible with Everdrive64?

Can we play  GB Tower on Pokemon Stadium? Can we transfer Mario tennis characters from GB to N64 and viceversa?

I doubt that would be possible, as the Transfer Pak would probably not recognize the gamepak as a Pokémon game, even if it's flashed to the cartridge... Heck, even a Pokémon game from a different region would not work with the Stadium games.
Well. I guess it would be possible, but it's WAY more trouble than it's worth.

Donkey Kong for example is doing great on autoColor.

I was so dissapointed when I downloaded Donkey Kong for my 3D but all the cool nice colors you'd see on the SGB was nowhere to be seen, as well as a few sounds.

The Super Game Boy actually had a lot of really neat features that most developers never really got around to take full advantage of.
Here is a very good article about the SGB and it's features.
It's definitely worth a read.

Would be great to have some 16-bit music or borders when using the GBED on a SGB.

I wouldn't mind at all paying $200 for a deluxe GBED that had most features covered.

Well, I guess I can live without the gyroscope and rumble feature xD

The reason that I decided to include the Saturn in the poll is because it technically does have a cartridge slot, and I have heard a lot of different stories on whenever it is actually possible to play/boot a game and run it entirely off the cartridge slot.

Since I didn't have enough info to go on, I just decided to leave it in.
So yeah, if we removed that, then the Jaguar would take 3rd place.

I can't really agree on the fact that there are many "great" flashcarts for the GB/GBC. There's only a few on the marked and they are hardly what I would call great.

the FACT is Jaguar has a lot of software in the works
and RARE games are too expensive

so a JAG-ED really makes sense  ;D

Like it or not Jaguar is the hottest non everdrive yet console...
