SD2SNES / Menu.bin Selection Menu

I've made a bunch of different SD2SNES menu.bin skins. Would it be possible to add a GUI option to choose one, or to cycle random menu.bin files?

For a selection menu, each menu.bin could be listed according to its sub-directory's name to distinguish between them.

For a random skin, the system would take a random menu.bin from sub-directories within a /menu folder, and then write it over the menu.bin in /sd2snes

Turbo EverDrive / v2.4 SuperGrafx Glitches

I tried using my v2.4 TED with a SuperGrafx and am getting serious graphical glitches in some games. I've tested No-Intro and GoodPCE versions of all roms, and I have my SGX's switch in position 1. I've tested on two different TED v2.4s with the exact same results.

Update: This turned out to be a simple insertion problem. After a lot of messing around, I found that my console needed the TED to be seated in a specific way. Now everything is perfect.

Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts/Daimakaimura: Occasional strange sprites and complete crashes in level 1.
1941: Sprite glitches
Madouou King Granzort: Boxy graphical glitches and lines through background sprites

Aldynes, Darius, and Battle Aces seem perfect. TG16/PCE roms are also unaffected by the glitches. Attached are a few pictures of some of the problems.

Mega EverDrive / New OS Update for CD Bios Loading

I'm away from my setup for a few weeks so I can't test out the latest OS update. I'm excited to hear more about the new option.

Could you please let us know how the new CD Bios loading feature works? I assume that it's a way to directly boot the Sega CD without needing to use a boot rom? How do we set it up with the particular bios that we'd like to use?

SD2SNES / OBC1 Support in v0.1.6

OBC-1 support was added in the new firmware. Does it require an OBC1.bin bios file?

Can a T-Connector be used to boot chip games like Yoshi's Island? For example, I own the Super Famicom Yoshi's Island. Can I install it in the T-Connector and boot the US Yoshi's Island rom from the Super Everdrive and play the game in English?

It's not really important but I'm curious to know if it would work.

When my Nomad (w/SMS enabled mod) is running on batteries and I boot an SMS rom, it crashes to a black screen. When plugged in to a power supply they load perfectly. Is this a hardware limitation, or just my Nomad acting weird?

I'm running Everdrive-MD v3, bios 3.1, OS 1

EverDrive 64 / CIC Chip still necessary?

Now that v2 can emulate the 6102 and 7101, is it even necessary to install a CIC chip any longer? If so, what is the benefit?

Does installing a chip still override the v2's ability to emulate the other chips?

Mega EverDrive / Master System: Emulated or Flashed Natively?

I'm curious to know if Master System games are emulated or flashed to run natively by the Everdrive like Genesis games? Very sorry if this answered elsewhere, but my searches didn't turn up the answer.

People keep asking about the differences between the Super Everdrive and the Super UFO Pro 8. I wanted to thoroughly shoot down the UFO8 and show how I came to an informed decision to go with the Super Everdrive.

Here's what you get for just $20 more with the Super Everdrive board:
-Lifetime warranty
-Actively updated firmware & OS
-Long file names -- this is huge. The UFO8 can only read the first 6 letters of game titles! Think about how that will work for the section starting with "Super". SUPERM~1 (Superman?, Super Mario World?, Super Mario Kart?, Super Mario All-Stars?), and then extrapolate that to all series with more than one game (Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man, Final Fantasy, Star Wars, etc). You have to memorize them by number with the UFO8!
-All stated features working, and the potential for new future features -- UFO8 marketing blatantly lies about its capabilities. Look on youtube for proof that every UFO8 feature is irreparably broken in some way or another.
-Fast loading games
-Working save state management -- You have to jump through hoops with the UFO8 to save states, and then be ready for them to disappear randomly.
-Automatic state saving when shut off/loaded at startup.
-Reliability -- Internet forums are full of complaints about the UFO8s breaking and failing.
-The SED is a modern design from the ground up -- The UFO8 is a slightly modified 3.5" floppy disk loader designed decades ago! The only thing changed is the sdcard reader replacing the 3.5" drive. This explains the absurd OS, broken and missing features, complex save states, slow speed, Jingle Bells title screen music (yes, it actually plays Jingle Bells...!), and DOS-era file-name limitations.

I'd pay $20 just to get rid of Jingle Bells, so that's a lot of bonus features for such a small difference in cost!

Super EverDrive / unofficial Super Everdrive Labels by smokemonster

update: I didn't realize that the Super Everdrive logo that I used was originally designed by Stone Age Gamer. I grabbed it from the S-ED manual thinking that it was the official logo, but SAG actually wrote that manual and designed the graphic. SAG contacted me asking that my label not be redistributed so I've removed the links to my templates and artwork.

I made a few Super Everdrive labels and wanted to share them. Many of the design ideas and images came from the Everdrive Cover Design thread at assemblergames. These are entirely unofficial and not affiliated with Krikzz.

Printing instructions: Don't print the PNGs below. Instead download the TIFs linked below each image. For US carts, print at 8.2cm wide x 4.4 cm tall. I've also included a layered PDN (Paint.NET) file so you can easily make your own label.

My original design is based on veganx's, with a new SED logo and high quality vector images:
