Flash check error clone?
« on: October 08, 2018, 02:19 PM »
Recently purchased an sd2snes from amazon. Rev. F. Firmware 1.8.0. It shipped from china so i assume its a clone, upon booting i get a quick message that says" flash check error clone?" Then it goes to the menu. Games load fine, but i don't appear to be able to change the firmware. If  i reformat the sd card in fat32 with a different firmware version the menu text just appears jumbled and system information still reads version 1.8.0 Any suggestions?

I suggest a official cart, no clone support here I fear.

Here's a pic of my pcb board for the cart incase that helps. If its a clone i wonder if i can either make it work or get a refund.

We do not know if you can get a refund. Not in here, that for sure. And if it fails with the official firmware then you are out of luck, because that means that it has to be a hardware problem. Official firmware works on official sd2snes and thus yours behaves bad.
But that error it fires out would interest me anyways ^^ pics please.

I recommend to request a refund and report Amazon that the seller sells counterfeit products.

Everything would be fine, except it being useless, but writing krikzz's good name on that ... device is reason enough to kick em all around the globe and then by law, too ^^

Well im a bit sour about the 200 bucks i spent on it. So far no reply from the seller. Might have to eat the cost and save my pennies for a real one. Wish I'd done my research before buying. Lesson learned. Its weird because it didnt give that error the first few times i used it. I could always try resoldering the chipsets.

Just keep at the seller. I know PayPal isn't integrated there, but surely there's a grievance process system on Amazon that would be similar to ebay? They'll have a record of the communications and if they don't reply, then they're hiding something and it won't go in their favour. Hopefully you'll end up with your money back and a shitty SD2SNES clone that you could sell on cheaply.

Amazon has a 30 day return policy. Why not just return it?

Whatever, I wonder what their firmware changed to make it work. And even funnier... Didn't they test their thing with official 1.8.0? This error message is quite... hard to not notice.

well I send the junk back tomorrow, where can i get the real deal? I live in canada,  should I  purchase directly from the krikzz.com shop, I see under the our dealers section in lists gamersection.ca as a legit site , but it also lists amazon where i bought this junk one from Eu_select  and got ripped off.  the gamer section site appears a bit cheaper than the krikzz store due to conversion costs...
