SD2SNES Pro - Not working on Super NT
« on: March 16, 2019, 08:25 AM »
I just received my SD2SNES Pro and loaded the firmware and roms on an SD card. When I have it plugged into my Super NT it just loads a blank screen. It even loads a blank screen without an SD card. What could be the issue??

Nevermind, I ended up having the firmware files messed up on my sd card somehow. All is okay now and playing great!

I’m having this same issue, could you explain what you did to fix it?

I think I had firmware V1.10.0 instead of V1.10.1. I just did a quick format of my card again, loaded just the firmware folder onto the root of the SD card and it worked. After that I then added some roms and verified all was good.

Same issue here. Get a blank screen. Running 1.10.1 on Super NT. Tried the format but did not help . (but am not 100 confident in Micro SD card, have ordered another to test.

Update...More testing, I REALLY believe my SD card is bad. New one coming tomorrow. Will report back

For me, it was my micro sd card. I tried two different SanDisk SDHC cards (16gig, 8 gig) with no luck. I purchased a SDXC card and that solved my issue.

The model that worked for me was SDSQUSC-128G-ANCMA (SanDisk).

Same problem. Black square on super NT. Double checked firmware version, brand new sdxc model SDSQUAR-128G-GN6MA. Reformat to EXFAT did not help

The format needs to be FAT32, not ExFAT

Yeah, I just noticed and corrected that. Weird that it was listed in the product description here, but not in the firmware instructions ;)

I just got my SD2SNES Pro and I plan on setting up this weekend.
Aside from the latest firmware, could someone post a screen shot or description of what other files, folders should be on the SDCard?
I recall with my standard SD2SNES SD Card, aside from the firmware, there were other files related to the custom chips in various games.

...or does the SD2SNES Pro firmware download have all the files we need?

It has what you need for basic usage.

Inside the firmware download zip is an "sd2snes" folder. Put that folder on the root of your SD card. Inside that folder has all the firmware files you need for basic usage. The only things you need to find for yourself are the special chip BIOS files...

  • bsxbios.bin
  • dsp1.bin
  • dsp1b.bin
  • dsp2.bin
  • dsp3.bin
  • dsp4.bin
  • st0010.bin

...as noted on the "Instructions/Important" part of the downloads page at https://sd2snes.de/blog/downloads

Okay, I must be doing something wrong here. I've downloaded the firmware, formatted a micro SD card as FAT32, placed the unzipped file in the root of the card...and I get nothing.  Anyone know how to get this working?

I'm not sure if this is related or not, but I have an MK1 SD2SNES and when I attempt to start my Super NT WITH A CONTROLLER PLUGGED IN, the system will not boot. If I boot without a controller, then plug the controller in right afterwards, everything works with no problems. This only happens with my SD2SNES, none of my original cartridges cause this problem.

There was someone from another forum that had tried a stronger power cord and claimed that stopped the problem, but I haven't tried it yet.

Hopefully this helps.
