This is great!
I gave it a try today with Ultimate Doom and Doom 2.
The Low Res mode runs very smooth.
The High Res is running good too I think considering we are on the N64.

Here are a few problems I run into:
Ultimate Doom and Doom 2
-The HUD has problems. It is flashing and the numbers are updating slowly.
-The entire screen is fixed at the top leaving a big black line at the bottom.
Maybe the screen can be centered?
-Weapons change is sometimes not responding but in general very slow. In Doom 2 I crashed the game while changing weapon resulting in a debug screen.
-Sound and Music volume is very low. I had to turn the volume of the TV quite high. After that I started another game and my ears almost fell off because it was
 so loud:D
-the music seems to have distortions
-When quitting the game over the main menu, the game shows that red credits screen. There is unpleasant sound and nothing else is happening.
When pressing the console reset, the screen shows a crash report/debug output for a short time and then returns to the Everdrive menu.
Since N64 games can not be quit via software, the quit game option probably should be hidden or disabled.
-When starting the game and in the main menu, the Titlescreen picture is always changing to the credits screen and back.
This makes the options almost unreadable.
-When having the detail high (no HUD) and switching on the map, the HUD is visible but flashing like crazy.
-Item collecting sounds seem not to be played
-for some reason, the weapon sprites appear sometimes quite blurry (I use a RGB with deblur mod) despite not having filters running
-there is screen cut from the left and the right. The A of Ammo is missing om the left and the inventory is cut on the right

Questions:
- is the game running in progressive mode or interlaced?
-is it possible to offer optional texture filtering the N64 can do? When SGI demonstrated the power of the Ultra 64 they showed Doom with filtering.
You can see it here: https://youtu.be/eKlbx5niBu8?t=47

Suggestions:
It would be nice to have a different button layout considering playing with the Control Stick
Z: Shooting
A&B: Weapon change
C left and right: strafe
C up: Map
C down: open/activate
L&R: alternate strafing

The menu should be controlled with A, B and Start buttons. Having to use the C buttons in options is very unusual on the N64

In general this is a very nice addition to Doom 64 on the system :)

Known issues you listed include
Not drawing status bar every frame, so sometimes it get garbled

Quit screen should stop music but doesnt

Screen not centered vertically

Horizontal over scan (always been an issue)

Crashes sometimes

Mostly this was a "get everything in github before anything happens to my laptop" commit where things mostly work and I updated the toolkit to reflect the current code. Can always use the one from the previous commit. Just didnt want to leave things with people saying "you have changes you didnt release".

P.s. it is 480 interlace, not progressive

You're on your own with controls, everyone complains about that but I did what I could to map the full complement of actions from kb to controller while not having to rewrite the entire input system and the code is there for people to change it if they dont like it.

Finally, you are misinterpreting that video you linked. The point was Doom wasnt using any filtering.

I have an SGI and the Doom build for it definitely is not using any hardware filtesting. It is software rendered just like 64Doom is.

minor changes to quiet complaints about pushing a version with glitches so I wouldn't lose progress, choosing beggars, this is it, everything I else I do from here-on is not getting published
- commit from yesterday

lol

well nevermind, reread this post and now i'm annoyed. Calling concise, non-hostile bug reporting things a choosing beggar does is toxic and unneeded. All he did was report some bugs, you don't have to filp your shit over one forum post.

Is Heretic possible on Nintendo 64 ??
Despite using the same Engine, Heretic apears to have bigger Stages, and insane number of enemies on screen.
.
This remember me a Heretic project for Atari Jaguar, that use the same Jaguar Doom engine.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ubP2StMocU
.
Following the same logic, i think will be possible to hack N64 Hexen, and insert the expansion HexDD (Deathkings of the Dark Citadel).

I'm not aware of anyone modding these N64 ports, unfortunately. It would be great to see them being modded, though.
