Interesting Hacks?
« on: February 11, 2014, 12:45:30 PM »
Are there any interesting hacks besides, Goldeneye X, and the Mario 64 hacks that don't work on Everdrive?

Any news on Super Mario Star Road working anytime soon by the way?

Also, I'm aware of the Zelda and Mario 64 maps on Goldeneye multiplayer. Is there any other cool ones? I would love the colors map from Conker's Bad Fur day, or maybe one from Turok

(I want hacks that work on the everdrive by the way) seems obvious but just sayin

Sadly there aren't many game hacks on the N64, partly since the N64 is so difficult to program, and mainly because it's been so difficult to run N64 game hacks (can't run them on a real cartridge of course, and up until a couple of years back N64 backup units that could run roms were very expensive), but hopefully that's changing now that backup cartridges like the Everdrive 64 and 64Drive are so affordable.

Anyway:

Here is a patch for Perfect Dark that makes the sims use mines in multiplayer (they don't use them normally) and allows you and the sims to use Goldeneye's weapons in multiplayer if you add them in the weapons set up:

All single player levels playable in multiplayer, with added weather (note that some levels might not work, or weapon placement might be less than ideal, etc, I can't remember exactly):

There are some other great Perfect Dark and Goldeneye hacks at;

Using this patch on The World is Not Enough, you can watch four bots play the multiplayer, via a quarter of the screen each, as though each bot is a human player:

Here's a patch to translate the Japanese-only Sin and Punishment into English:

F-Zero X hacks work on real hardware so if you like that game you have hundreds of new tracks available!  ;D

Here are some full F-Zero X hacks. I haven't tried them all, but F-Zero X Climax is VEEEERY good.

As Kerr Avon said, you can find lots of new multiplayer maps and missions for GoldenEye and Perfect Dark at
http://www.goldeneyevault.com/

If you are looking for multiplayer maps from other games in GE/PD I know there are a few Banjo maps done. Also, some maps from PD are available for GE too.

I was the one who did the Peach's Castle, Kakariko Village and Forest Temple maps. I plan on making more maps like those, but I'm busy with another project (a full GoldenEye hack in collaboration with more people). So until that one is finished I won't work on multi maps again.
Heh, Conker's Colors has been suggested by a few people. I'll have to take a look to that map again, although I have trouble ripping geometry from that game. If you have any suggestions you can write me here or PM in this board.

Kerr Avon, thanks for posting that 4 player AI hack! Seems like a cool feature to play around with. Maybe I'll keep a score table and determine who's the smartest bot :P
