There's an elaborate rom hack of SMB3 where the creator disassembled the entire game. Works fine on hardware.

Thanks for the heads up, it look awesome! I'm not usually a huge fan of hack but this one look pretty cool.

Best Super Mario Bros. 3 hack by far second to Mario Adventure!

Apparently, this hack pushes the system to the limit! Hardly any flicker (except in certain levels), but LOTS of slowdown though.

Amazing how he ported the Reznors to the NES/Famicom, which is really impressive! Of course there's a crapton of slowdown that comes with them (Go Figure).

IPS files are patches. You need to apply the patch using Lunar IPS (or something similar) to the PRG0 or PRG1 ROMs (note: that's a GoodSets ROM rather than the No-Intro set that people here usually suggest).
