Star Ocean
« on: June 30, 2014, 01:06 AM »
Hi! I'm having trouble trying to play this game on my SD2SNES, I'm only getting a black screen with the translated rom  :(
Anyone has a working rom for this game on SD2SNES? Thanks!

Are you using the 96Mbit "no S-DD1" hack? You need that one because sd2snes doesn't support the S-DD1 compression chip in Star Ocean. The normal 48Mbit won't do.

Is there a patch for SFA2? I remember there being a decompressed ROM for emulators but not seen a patch or ROM image anywhere for flash carts.

Appearently, no one is in a hurry to make one. I can understand it since unlike Star Ocean which was ported FROM the Super Famicom to other consoles, SFA2 was actually ported TO the Super Nintendo... And it is not such a good version when compared to others.

Well it's true it's not the best port but I still think it'd be interesting to check out.

It's not the best, but A2 is an admirable attempt. I suppose this is just one of those, "it would be nice if..." moments.

It would be even nicer if proper S-DD1 support was here, although other chips like SA-1 should have priority.

Hello,

Sorry to bump that thread, but I have some issues with the rom on my SD2SNES.
Sometimes it freeze during the intro, and my menus get some graphical glitches and lot of "???" characters.

I run the japanese rom, and patched myself with the dejap UPS and 96mbit xdela.

Are you running the game flawlessly?

Thanks and sorry for my english, I'm french ^^;
