Convert MPK files to EEPROM?
« on: December 09, 2014, 04:15:21 AM »
Hey there Everyone!

I have had an N64 console all my life, and played loads of games on it.
With the Everdrive 64 I can play new and old games, which is fantastic! (All credits to Krikzz, seriously!)
However those games naturally don't contain my older save files.

What I would love to do, is to transfer my saved game from a game like Goldeneye.
The game is saved on the cartridge, with a 4k EEPROM, as far as my knowledge goes.
I am able to transfer that EEPROM to my N64 Memory Pak, via the Passport III (or Gameshark for that matter).
I can then back up my Memory Pak on the Everdrive 64, and copy the content over to PC.

I have done all that already, I made a format of the memory pak every time I backed up a cartridge save.
The thing I need now, is to somehow convert that memory pak (MPK) file to its original EEPROM again.
Then I can put the EEP's onto the save folder of the E64 and use my original save files from when I was a kid, only this time on my RGB modded 60hz N64 :D

I really hope this is possible!
Sorry if I am asking for the impossible!

I didn't even think of this. That's a great idea. I second this request.

Can an emulator convert the file?  I was able to do something similar with game boy games before.
NES - EDN8 | SNES - Super ED | Genesis ED-MD | Gameboy - EDGB | N64  - ED64 | Game Geear - Everdrive GG | GBA - EZ-Flash IV| Gamecube - XenoGC & EZ Flash IV | NDSL - R4 wood & EZ Flash 3in1

Thank you very much.
Because i don't have a Pasport III (i should look for one), i'll try with my CD64 (It seems that the CD64 has a Memory Manager too).

I bought mine here: http://www.play-asia.com/passport-adapter-version-iii-paOS-13-49-en-70-2q.html
I think it's the cheapest one :)

Game saves with FlashRAM 1Mbit does not fit in the memory card , there is not enough room .  :(

Since it doesn't matter if it's an original or not.
You could technically invest in a 1Mb memory pak, and get the necessary space needed, I suppose :)

I already have a 1Mbit memory card, but in fact, there is a 4-position switch ( 256X4 ) . We can't have the 1Mbit at the same time.

Would that also be the case for the 4 mb one? http://www.nesworld.com/n64-datel4megcontrollerpak.php

How on earth did you get your hands on one of those? :D
I'm afraid that the Everdrive can't back it up problably, but maybe the Dexdrive would work? :)
Let me know if you figures it out!
