I have an SD2SNES. Do I need to patch PAL games, such as Terranigma and The Firemen, so that they'll play at the correct speed on my NTSC console? (I'm in the U.S.)
Yes unless you mod your SNES with an NTSC/PAL switch. I know that there's an NTSC patch for the PAL version of Terranigma but I don't know if there's a patch for Firemen.

Yeah, the whole SD2SNES region-patching thing is a little confusing to me. I've done a lot of research on both this site and other forums, but I can't really get a clear explanation on the issue of playing PAL ROMs on an NTSC console and TV. A lot of people say that most PAL games are not PAL-optimized, and therefore play normally with the SD2SNES on an NTSC console.

Update: I just compared The Firemen running on my SD2SNES on an NTSC SNES with a longplay on YouTube, and the game is definitely playing faster on my system. What's the best way for me to be able to play PAL games on my NTSC SNES? I know Terranigma has a patch, but what about The Firemen?
