seems the new os is buggy it freezes at the init ... screen
Might also be a damaged download I have tried downloading it a few times.

now it's not even giving me the init... screen it's just booting into the last rom i had loaded but when i remove the os file from the sd card i get the menu again and it works just fine

Good job on the A/B swap. 

Game Genie codes still don't work, however.

For those who tried to load this os file as I did - it should not be loaded manualy, put gbos.gb into EDGB folder of sd card - it will load itself on boot.

Fancy that - same everdrive works fine on GB classic "brick", bootloops to last flashed rom on GB color. (with os v2 installed)

Just try yo reinsert sd card, probably cart can not read sd card and launch last game, even not boot OS at all

sounds like you have the same issue as I do on the GBC or GBA sp it just loads the last rom.

Mine also bootloops to the last loaded ROM when used in my GBA. Removing the GBOS.GB file lets me get back to the menus again and pick a different game.

Tried that. With no manipulation with sd card EDGB with OSv2 in gameboy classic works (blinks init twice, than boots os v2), in gameboy color blinks init twice (like striggles to load os v2), resets to last game. Absolutely reproducible. Maybe GBC current or voltage is low to drive edgb osv2 boot? It's only 2 batteries, after all.
