I tried a sandisk ultra 32 GB micro sdhc (class 10) with my Game Boy Colour and experienced the issue where it would just skip the OS menu and boot the last ROM that was played.  I used this same card in my Super Game Boy for the SNES and as able to access the OS directory without issue. Very strange.

I then tried a Kingston 8 GB micro sdhc (class 4) and it also works perfectly in my Game Boy Colour!

I'm happy it works now but curious as to why the class 4 worked in my Game Boy Colour but not the "faster" class 10?  Maybe the storage size difference between of the 2 cards is part of the reason?

Would I be able to downgrade the OS if it doesn't work?
I guess not?  :-\

1) Swap A/B buttons in menu option
Finally! :) Thanks a lot Krikzz!
Now if just Turboeverdrive and Sega everdrives would also be swappable too.

If not, reformat the SD card.

Cartridge does not install new OS, it just loads from SD at each startup

I put the new OS update in my EDGB folder, turn it on, and it says

init...
fat something
os loading...

then when in the menu, the button swap is still the old way, which means the new os update is not loading. I have a samsung 2GB card.

Did you press Select to get the ED main menu and change the swap key to Yes?

I came also to the same result that was already mentioned before: The new OS2 seems to have an influence on the compatibility of the used Micro SD card. An old no-name 2GB and an older 8GB Kingston did work without any issues, my SanDisk Ultra 32GB did not work anymore on OS version 2.
I also still had the latest SanDisk Extreme Plus 32 GB model from my EZ-Flash IV review lying around here and same issue there - BTW, KRIKzz I still hope that a new Everdrive GBA will come out as the PC client you need also for the new EZ-Flash IV is total crap, especially when trying to get it running on Windows 10...  ;)
Anyway, that behavior is independent from the Gameboy model used. It is not a big thing as long as you still have access to older or smaller Micro SD cards and I like the fact that I can swap A and B now.  ;D

I'm on a 8GB SanDisk I think class 1 card, and it doesn't work with the new OS on my GBC's. Any plans to fix the issue KRIKzz?
your sd card does not meets standard of speed of that size
http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=3395.msg32297#msg32297

No but if it's a timing issue with only the gbc it should be fixable on the software side, but maybe it would have to be fixed in the firmware, and that would of course be a different matter I guess.

Hi

I have the same problem with OS2. As soon as I put the new OS on the memory card, the everdrive reboots and plays last game. I have tried this on 2 SD Cards, although both were the same model...

SanDisk Ultra 8GB - Class 10

This was tested on GBA SP and a gameboy Color

Any ideas anyone?

Super Everdrive also still lacks the button swap.

Anyway, this OS seems to work fine here on a 8 GB Kingston class 4 microSDHC...

This is not true. Not just there are a lot of reports that "compatible" cards don't work, but even cards that work do this on per device basis (work on some gameboys, fail on other)
