SanDisk Ultra isn't working for me
and some old shitty 512mb card is working.

so it's not totally wrong ^^

Let me put it this way - changing sd card helps, but just putting sd or sdhc card won't work. Old 2G or less in size cards tend to work (with os V2 on all gameboys, classic, color or advance), but this recommendation is not bulletproof. It may work with osv2, and it may not.

beside that, there are many sdcard fakes on the market, even on amazon or local stores. ^^

it's not always easy to tell if the sdcards are genuine ones or not.
so if your card is on an incompatible list, it's still worth a try. :>

of course my list is not bulletproof
you should ask to SanDisk why their fastest card have bad "Access Time"

2GB SD card has Spec version 1.01

like other users said

not all sd card(s) made with the same parts
some will fail, most will work

also about
gbc and gba slot(s) access time and power supply are not made equal
will cause different results, most will work for others, some will fail

I update my list to be more detail

Just adding my experience...

EDGB in a Super Gameboy 2 runs fine.  It loads the file menu up and u can pick a game, upon reset it loads the same game like normal unless you completely turn off the SNES.

EDGB in GBA SP simply loads the last game up...no file menu at all

EDGB in Gamecube GB player loads the last game up...no file menu at all

for the time being i just deleted the new os and all my gameboy playing devices work flawlessly with the everdrive gb

Still wrong as like I said in my last post, my 8 GB class 4 card works fine both on GBC and GBA SP. Doesn't mean at all that this is the case for all class 4 cards of course, but it proves your blanket statement about needing at least class 6 for 8 GB wrong.

The most important statement is
Quote
Access Time needs be 0.81ms or lower, anything more than 0.93ms, will fail to load OS
SD card class and markings are not important what matters is the raw performance of the card overtime. What matters is luck.
Chaos reigns within - Reflect, repent and reboot - Order shall return

On a minor note, I realized the "system type" display is gone in v2 now.

This is indeed the best conclusion of all those SD related issues.

i wanted to say, that it's possible that with some fake cards, someone could just owns a spec 2.00 sdcard instead of a 3.01 one.

here is 64GB SDHC on the picture
it's somehow out of specs for a SDHC (<=32GB) and i'm pretty sure that many SDXC cards are just SDHC ones and that the controller says something about 64GB but the is is only 16GB in size.
