It includes the older VRC6 with less volume variations.
Download the new one provided by Slamy called 24VRC6ModV3.zip for more volume variations between 50 and 22.
*All the same name files are identical in both versions.

Alright.  Which one do you think is the most authentic sounding?

On the AV Famicom it will be VRC6 35_35, but on other NES consoles (AVS, NT, Modified-NES, etc..) I have no idea.

Any updates to the MMC5 mapper 005.RBF? I would really like to get Nobunaga's Ambition II into a playable state. If there are no updates, where can I find the information on the RBF file format? I might try programming my own updates to the mapper. From what I have read the problem is that MMC5 EX-RAM is not supported.

The RBF file is a FPGA core. You should contact Krikzz. Maybe he gives you the existing code for alteration.

Actually found source to mapper 5, now I'm trying to figure out which version of Quartus I need.

So, I have the source, and I have figured out the version of Quartus I should use, but I forgot to ask, what device do I target the compile for? Any else I should know? I have written lots of code, and I plan to look at the MAME code base for the NES to see how to implement mapper 5 since it works there, but I have never used Quartus before or programmed a FPGA or a CPLD however I have designed complex discrete logic circuits.

Usually the source code comes with a .qpf file which is a quartus project and should give you a configuration to start with.
The device is a EP2C5T144C8.
Please keep in mind that the source code is not only logic. You also need a .pin configuration file to configure which signal is mapped to which pin.
I have used Quartus only once for this project as I was used more to Xilinx devices.

Anybody know what VRC6 RBF file I need for an original Famicom? Also 069.RBF crashes my console to a black screen when I attempt to load Gimmick!, in conjunction with the MAPROUT.bin that came with the 085.RBF by necromfive(?).

Make sure you unzip the file to the hard drive first. I also found deleting the old 069.RBF file before putting the new one on the SD card works better than overwriting it.

You definitely don't want to do an overwrite.  The ED is very sensitive to disk fragmentation.  I often do a full wipe and recopy when upgrading the OS, including the games.

Sadly, same here.
Adding files may even corrupt save states, seems unrelated but it does.

Since "audio mix vol" option now always "Hi" what VRC6 RBF file will be the most correct for Akumajou Densetsu?
People say 100_75 but do they use the HI or LO setting from the old firmware?; I assume LO.
A file format as such 24Mod_75_70.RBF means 75 HI and 70 LO, so for current firmware locked on HI, I would choose 24Mod_75_70.RBF.

Also, people add a 24k-100k resistor to their NES to restore external audio functionality, and use the N8 with one of these RBF files, that is too many variables to be accurate.
What would be the correct RBF file for the AV Famicom which does not require any modification?
Can anyone please post a recording samples of the real Akumajou Densetsu cartridge in a real AV Famicom so I can fine tune for myself?

only vrc6 have the volume settings files? why other 2 mappers not?
now with the new OS v20 HI option is disappeared and i need a volume boost because on famicom the sound is totally low now
