2 Questions revolving around the Sega CD
« on: September 20, 2015, 01:01 AM »
Hi all, I have 2 questions:

1. Is it possible to use the Everdrive MD as a Sega CD RAM cart?

2. Can you play 32X+Sega CD games using the Everdrive MD?

1. No
2. Do you mean Sega CD 32x like Corpse Killer 32x or Night Trap 32x? The answer is no, you can't play them because ED MD can't load cd images.

I didn't really mean play them directly, but rather if I have the Sega CD attached and the game disc for Corpse Killer or whatever. I was under the impression that there was something the 32X needed but is there no cartridge involved in these games? I wasn't sure because I've never owned one.

I've never played a 32X CD game, but as I understand it, you run the key disc (Sega CD version of the game) and then switch to the 32X CD. There's no cart involved.

By the way, the Mega Everdrive has RAM cart functionality, just not the standard ED.

32X CD games are just CDs, no need of anything else.
I don't remember for the keyed one if you can just use the 32X from the get go, I think so [Fahrenehit  seems to be able to boot directly from the 32X on if memory serves, but it's been a while, NightTrap works directly]
