PSP to PS1
« on: September 26, 2015, 03:55 AM »
Hi, i was thinking here, the game harvest moon back to nature for girls was only made in japan originally, but, for the psp, the game was released in english with the original harvest moon back to nature.

the iso from ps1 can be converted to run on psp, could the opposite be done?

because the same was made with the zelda majora's mask master quest right? they taken the game from the game of gamecube then converted to n64.

it will be possible to extract the version for girls from the psp iso and burn it to run on a ps1?

Simple Popstation GUI had an option to extract an ISO from EBOOT.

It's not that easy, btw Ocarina of Time Master Quest was a n64 game emulated on the Game Cube. They both have different architectures, the N64 is on mips and the the GC is on ppc.

The Playstation and psp are technical a lot closer (PSP mips r4000, PS mips r3000), but the PSP is way more powerful than the PS. ^^
Long term short, if a psp game isn't an emulated Playstation game, there is nearly no chance in porting it backwards. :>

Bokujō Monogatari Harvest Moon for Girl
is a japanese playstation game, so it should be at least possible to do a translation, with the english psp version language files. ^^

Quote
With the release of The Wind Waker, a special bonus was offered for pre-ordering the game. This bonus is a Nintendo GameCube disc containing Ocarina of Time, as well as a release of Ura Zelda, titled outside of Japan as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest. Master Quest contains altered dungeons with a steeper difficulty level, as originally promised for Ura Zelda. Both games on the disc are emulations of Nintendo 64 ROMs, and not direct ports to the system.

Can you tell us the title of the game this was released as? Can't find a game titled "harvest moon back to nature for girls". After all, it could be that it was simply emulated on the PSP.

Edit: if its this one, then it should be extractable as its a ps classic title, which is just emulated Ps one games

the title is:
Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl
it's a combined game with both versions

yeah, I got ahold of the game and it's not a ps classic title with POPS, but it seems to be a "proper" PSP port. So really, no chance of getting it to work on a PSone.

im happy to see to much people talking about it but sad to hear it =/
Can be possible to do what saturno said about the using the english texts to make a translation for the ps1 version?

Pretty hard and time consuming. Basically you'll have to do everything manually from scratch, somehow find all the text in the game and translate/insert that in the appropriate places.

And I actually guess it doesn't help that the pix version has Japanese characters, afaik that wont even make it a simple "find the text and overwrite it" type of thing. You might run into serious space issues as Japanese text is a lot "shorter" since characters represent entire syllables. Really, I don't think i'll be worth the effort.

PS: I tried replacing the A_File.bin and .hdt files in the psx version of the game with the Girl_File.bin and hdt files from the psp version. I figured they were pretty much exactly the same size so maybe the engine has simply been rewritten for the pep and the assets in the bin file might be the same format. But either I broke the image entirely or it simply doesn't work.
