SD2SNES Theme/Menu
« on: January 20, 2016, 02:55 PM »
Is it possible to change the theme to look and feel a bit more like the everdrive ones?
I am not into the washed out looking fonts and graffitti on SD2SNES menus.  I am not sure if they are customisable at all

Agreed. A black EverDrive OS would be cool.

not posible for externally
but SD2SNES OS is open source
you need to re-create the menu.bin file
for each new theme

Great, so it sounds possible by someone who knows what they are doing.

Does anyone here have the know how to make those kind of edits?

We should light up the clouds with a huge "SATURNU" spot, with a drama theatrical music...

I heard somewhere that ikari_01 is maybe make a tool to skin the menu. But I don't know if it's true.

A Theme Function is on the todo List i heard BUT it isn't a important main feature....so.....it's on the bottom of the list, i think.... in other words: Its done when its done

I remember reading somewhere (don't cite me on this) that ikari mentioned that that would likely be coming after he gets out the final version of 0.1.7. It'll happen when it happens though, if you're getting caught up in the menu design I don't know what to say, you get a flash cart to play games not stare at menus :P

The SD2SNES logo aside, I think the menu has a nice snes feel to it with the gradient blue.

Be aware that using these alternative menus, made by Ramsis for fw 1.6, break some of the new 1.7x specific features (I believe the updated config menu, and the 10-most-recent list).

Thanks for the different skins!
I did some digging and found a post that linked to an updated version of one alternative skin:

Link to the menu.bin file:
