« on: February 28, 2013, 01:38 AM »
Is there some way to skip these loading/building/saving database steps? It takes some time and it's getting a little anoying.

It only takes like 2 seconds and it only happens when you make a change to the SD card (add a game or two, take one away, move it around, etc).

I didn't count, but it's taking ~30 seconds here, and it happens every time I use a long reset (to change game).

I've found the problem. The microSD to SD adapter lock switch is not so tight, so it was changing to the lock position as it was inserted into the SD2SNES. So it wasn't being able to save the data base, even though it showed no error message. That's why it was scanning, rebuilding and trying to saving it every time.

Now I carefully inserted it and it only took a long time for the first time. Now it only loads the list from the data base and it's really fast.

I would really recommend using a real SD card instead of a Micro. Real SD cards read and write much faster. Micros are primitively slow. There is no reason to use a Micro in the SD2SNES. You can afford a real SD card. They're like $5.

The microSD is only temporary. I bought a 16GB SD for the Mega Everdrive and a 32GB SD for the SD2SNES when I ordered them. But they are coming from DX (Hong Kong), so the Flash Carts arrived earlier. So I'm using this microSD I already had laying around until the SDs arrive.
