NSF Player?
« on: March 20, 2016, 08:22 AM »
Are there plans to bring an NSF player to the ED N8? The PowerPak has one already, and the source code is available here if that would help: http://3dscapture.com/NES/powerpak_nsf_src.zip
@Syboxez on Discord and some other places as well.

i would also love this feature. i think there are a lot of musicians who want to use the famicom and an n8 to play back their work for recording, especially with expansion chips.

Hopefully krikzz will be able to look in to this. But remember real life goes on and he may have a lot of projects. I can't remember where I read you can convert nsf to nes and they will play because I was trying to find the answer to this. I did find a snes and player but the graphics are not clear but it plays and files. Though they are all bundled in the rom. Got it somewhere on my sd2snes.

I wonder why no one made some kind of an NSF2ROM packer that can inject an NSF playlist into a rom jukebox style. There is such a program for Sega MD.

People were doing this in the 90's. 8)

Here's a compilation of what I could find. This is tested working on the Everdrive. Press start to advance songs.

Before you ask, I can't make more. Here are the sources for reference:

I think RainWarrior's mapper 031 is for playing NSF compilations, but I don't know how to go about compiling your own ROM.
