Krikzz/Michael, any progress this week? Have you reproduced the issue?

Not yet -- we had to send out another package to Krikzz with some more hardware for further testing. We'll let you know as soon as we reach a solution. Rest assured, we're on it!

I've tested with the different phases, which cured the most obvious graphical glitches, and it takes a bit longer for it to crash. 30, 40 minutes. Sometimes the crashes are weird like Boom-Boom (an animal in super mario bros 3) becoming on a separate layer from Mario so they couldn't touch each other and when the time ran out the game crashed completely, sometimes it justs locks up. We also tested latest firmware on Nt (we were already using latest on N8) and that made no difference that we could see, neither worse nor better.

So, still not OK, we want to play for hours and hours.

1. First One
2. HDMI only
3. 2.25 and v13
4. Settings used (Hi-Def HDMI).
5. SMB, SMB3,
6. No problems playing games for extended period with Everdrive N8. Was getting graphical glitch in SMB as shown here in this link. Look at posts with images.

http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10104

Changing despeckle to option 2 worked in getting rid of this graphical glitch. Everything else has been great.

Krikzz is right in the middle of working on the GBA ED, so we are on his timeline at this point. He informed us that he is investigating the Nt/FC ED issue in his free time. Wish there was more we could do to help.

Hello everybody. I own an Analogue NT along with an everdrive N8 and I'm kind of let down after spending a huge amount of money on both things. First of all, games don't work any well. Many of them have also graphical glitches. What's even bothering me even more is the fact that along with the purchase of the Analogue NT I also purchased a third party controller that after trying it for the first playing Super Mario Bros 2 and Mega Man 2, if I press Right(Or Right and Up)+B+A button. The game pauses as if I've pressed start. Thinking that the controller could've been broken, I purchased through ebay 4 original NES controllers. When they arrived, I've found out that none of them work correctly! In fact, the none of them respond at the everdrive menu whilst the third party controller at least managed to respond up and down in the menu. So I'm extremely confused whether if this is problem of the Everdrive with the Analogue NT (which after all I hope that's the problem) or my Analogue NT unit's controller port is broken.

I'm running the everdrive OS ver 13
BIOS ver 5
and my Analogue NT firmware version installed is 2.25

We did more testing with lots of games and phases and so far only one game hasn't crashed, the original Pinball. Maybe it's a mapper issue? But, SMB1 doesn't work and that's also using mapper 0.
For us, phase 3 gives us the longest play times, just under 30 minutes. The others crash sooner and look glitchier (except that SMB1 looks glitchy in all four phases).

To be clear, we haven't had any problems with the controllers not working.

1. Type of Analogue Nt: 2nd Edition
2. Video connection: HDMI
3. Software version: Everdrive OS13, HDMI 2.25final
4. Settings used (Hi-Def HDMI).
5. Game used and version:

Legend of Zelda, The (U) (PRG0) [!].nes
Legend of Zelda, The (U) (PRG1) [!].nes
This is easy to replicate. Just run the game but don't play. Let it cycle through the intro. Sometimes it will crash in about 10 seconds and sometimes in about 3 minutes. Game will freeze, music will hang, then game dumps to a black screen. Same result across multiple SD cards.

1. Second run Nt
2. HDMI
3. Hi-Def 2.25, Everdrive v13
4. 1080p
5. Famicom N8 - all NES carts work fine
6. Graphics glitches, and crashing. Doesn't matter which despeckle I use.

Games that I've tried on Everdrive that work every time:
Kirby's Adventure (very stable, was able to complete the whole game)
Castlevania 3 and Akumajou Densetsu
FDS games
SMB
Ms PacMan (Tengen)
Defender II

Games that crash after a while:
King Of Kings
SMB2 (USA)
Donkey Kong
TETRIS (USA)

Games that show glitches or missing a sprite layer:
TETRIS (USA) tiles become garbled.
SMB3 (bottom status bar jitters)
Star Gate (ship is completely missing)
Galaxian (Rare, but the ship can disappear and the monsters attack and divebomb nothing!)
Pinbot (bottom of table jitters, sometimes crashes instantly on changing table layout)

And on top of this, the more that I've used the system, the more stable the games are. When I first started using the Everdrive N8, pretty much every game crashed and FDS games refused to load. After a few weeks of use, this is no longer the case. I was about to throw in the towel when things started to "work". Now it's almost a coin-flip on which games on the "might work" list work or not. Leaving the Nt on overnight for a few nights might have "broken in" the system, I guess.

EDIT: tonight the console with the N8 has been a total cluster. Now I'm getting I/O errors from the menu, with the menu sometimes locking up completely--- when I use the mains in my front room of my house. Move it to the back, and no problems. It couldn't be the DC power, could it? Surely not...  :-X

1. Analogue NT (second run)
2. HDMI
3. Hi-Def firmware v2.25 / EverDrive OS v13
4. Despeckle 3, 1080p 4x, horizontal stretch 5x, audio PPU clock, audio panning for pseudo-stereo
5. The Legend of Zelda (USA) (EverDrive N8 Famicom cart)
6. Game freezes after letting it idle in the main menu for a while.

I've tried playing several different games, and almost all of them occasionally freeze, and sometime scramble part of the graphics while doing so. When the game freeze, I'm unable to bring up the Hi-Def NES menu, and have to reset the console.

Playing original games seems to be working perfectly fine.

1. Second Run Analogue NT
2. HDMI
3. Hi-Def Firmware 2.25 / Everdrive firmware v13
4. 1080p, any despecle, any scanlines
5. Everdrive N8 Famicom shell / All games except FDS
6. Freezes, resets, and/or presents graphical glitches after 5-10 minutes of play. Super Mario 2 USA at title screen, character selection screen, or shortly thereafter (depending on the despecle). Excitebike 1-2 minutes in while racing. Doesn't seem to affect FDS games.
7. Using the smokemonster Everdrive N8 v4.6 SD Card Setup Pack on an 8GB SanDisk Ultra microSDHC UHS-I Card

I just received my N8 and really wish I would have checked out these forums first ... very disappointing  :-\
