I'm still rocking my Rev.E1b, would I be able to use this board to upgrade to the latest rev? Or is there much more to do before this? (Pardon me if I missed this in other threads, my search ability is failing me)
You have to mod your Rev. E1b to Rev.F first see here and here and then you could skip Rev. G and go on to the latest Rev. H.
I hope this helps.
Until a couple days ago, I knew there had been revisions to the SD2SNES, but since it wasn't preventing me from enjoying games or updating the OS, I hadn't paid much attention. My SD2SNES is Rev. E1, I bought it in 2013. Besides the audio issues with MSU-1, am I missing anything? I'm giving some thought to upgrading and thanks much for the above post and this thread for the needed info ... but again, besides the MSU-1 issue, am I missing anything? Does the problem with older revisions affect all audio output, or only the MSU-1 output? Is there
any in-game performance or compatibility that the upgrades from Rev. F and then to Rev. H would affect (not including MSU-1)
I ask because I think the MSU-1 feature is great, but I don't really use it much. I don't know if I want to perform these operations on my SD2SNES just for audio improvements I'll rarely notice.
