Background and Sprite Glitches

I'm sorry if this is a really easy problem to fix, I don't know anything about these. I just ordered it off stoneagegamer, downloaded the required files and turned it on. I get it on the backgrounds of most 3rd party games. Like black boxes, inverted colors, it's happened in Sparkster, Hook, Jetsons, Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage, in Contra 3 it replaced the first boss with random colors. I have no idea how to fix it.

Try going into the config menu from the sd2snes dashboard and go into in game hooks and turn them all off. That might help but I have never had any issues with the games you mentioned with or without the in game hooks on. It wouldn't hurt to try it on your setup tho. Hopefully someone a bit more knowledgeable about it will help.

Have you cleaned the cartridge slot on your system recently? If not, it's worth a try. Make sure to also clean the contacts on the SD2SNES.

I tried the original Jetsons SNES cart no background problems, I tried to SD2SNES on another SNES and no background problems. Maybe my SNES really is just dirty.

Take it to a really good technician and have the caps changed. Most of these weird video issues are simply fixed by getting a cap change. You can buy good quality caps at console5.com.

Hey np. I remembered something else. Try testing your console with the Nintendo service cart roms. Smokemonster's rom collection has all of them, some of these tests might help you narrow down the issue, but if you have an original Snes console then its probably just old caps. You can find Smokemonster's collection in emuparadise's forums.
