Super Punch Out!
« on: July 28, 2016, 03:52 PM »
"upgraded" from a Super Everdrive, got my sd2snes yesterday. Real improvements I must say.

Got problems with Super Punch Out!, it was mentioned in the "known issues list".

When is it being fixed?
Is there another version it works?

The Super Everdrive had no problems with this game.

Sounds like you saw this site but it doesn't appear to have details as to what is going on.

https://sd2snes.de/blog/compatibility/in-game-hook-compatibility

I guess Ikari could add to the site that if you want to fix any issues with games that you need to disable in-game hooks in the main menu settings. As much as I like to have soft reset via the controller, I just keep them disabled and reset my games the old fashioned way by pressing the button on the Super Famicom.

It probably wouldn't hurt to clarify on the page that this has nothing to do with the card itself but more the code that gets injected into the rom to allow for the soft reset feature. Disabling in-game hooks makes all the games on the list work normally.   ;D

Aha, thanks for the clarification!

Will disable the in-game hooks.

The SuperCIC has theese functions aswell, can I rely on that instead to soft-reset or is it the same issue here?

@OneBagTravel Good idea, I added a little text to the page. ;)

@Atse That will work fine, and the SuperCIC/IGR has no impact on the running game.
