Save states on Retro Trio
« on: September 29, 2016, 11:06 PM »
I'm sure this has been beaten to death on this forum... but do save states work now on the Super Retro Trio?  I am finding conflicting / confusing information in my google searches.

I'm trying to figure out which Mega Everdrive to purchase.  If the save states won't work on the Retro Trio I would probably get the X5.
As far as I can tell the biggest difference between the X7 and X5 is save states.

What does "hardware mega key" and "saves without reset" mean in the comparison of the X5 and X3?

Mega Key bypasses region lockout for a good number of games. 'Saving without reset' refers to the fact that certain Everdrives require you to reset to the main menu to retain game saves (they get backed up to the SD card).

I have no idea if save-states work on the Retro Trio, but honestly, if you really want them, just pick up a cheap Genesis to use with the X7. Everdrives are really meant for original hardware first and foremost.
